Uh oh. Bad situation.
Apparently they're "nearing bankruptcy".

A recent financial report has revealed that debt for the studio has piled up so that it has surpassed the studio's total assets, making the developer insolvent. The Tails Studio has accumulated a debt of 21 million dollars and has posted an annual loss of one million dollars.

Well Gainax is still around and they had a lot of tax issues and they are still around.

But then again that was only cause of a stupid accountant, in this case they are losing money by the motherload......

An annual loss of 1 million is quite a bit.

That really sucks. But I can't say that this is unexpected. Tales of Symphonia was their best game, and the resulting sequel was rather insulting. And it showed in the sales.

Then with the non-localization of Graces, they kept people in the states from allowing to buy the new tales game that would have been a decent penny for them, but then they also had to recall the game for the several bug issues, costing another blow to their pocket.

It sucks, but I can't say that it isn't their own fault for it happening. They kinda brought it upon themselves.
