Persona 4 the Animation

To add to the massive P4 Hype lol. THough this was announced a while back but never had a topic.

Its coming out in October, hopefully theres a sub group on standby ready to sup the eps as they release

What are the chances Adult swim would air it? Lol. It's be awesome if they aired it on midnight and the opening to the show looked like the midnight channel starting. [/wishful thinking]

Welp. Looked pretty nice, and I liked how they incorporated parts of the game interface and the music.
So far Yosuke is super irritating and Chie is the best character.
What they need to do, though, is give the main character a personality. Because he's, y'know, the main character. They did seem to add a little.
I don't think they're really going to flesh it out though, which is a shame.

If they gave Souji a predetermined personality it would kinda take away from the freedom the game offered. Its like how P3's manga did the same with minato. Its along the same lines if they had him flat out fall in love with Chie or something, it kinda takes away the fun of having an open ended game with whatever ending/pairing you want when they make an anime and it says "THIS IS HOW IT IS. SUCKS TO BE YOU"

But in an anime, you can't project your own personality onto Souji, since you don't make any of the decisions and you don't control the character.
They could do it as though it were just one person's playthrough, which would still make sense.

To tell a good story, you need to have a main character with a believable personality.

And his is beliveable. "Im going to a boring town for a year"

And I can buy that. Besides, persona is more about the personalities of the people the MC forms bonds with, not the MC him/herself.

He hasn't demonstrated much of a personality yet. His favorite word seems to be "huh?"
But they have time. Hopefully they'll make sure he isn't boring. It would be very bad for a super boring character to have the most screentime and close-ups.
They're on the right track with that flashback he had, giving an insight into his thoughts. They might pull it off.
I kinda doubt they'll bother, though...

I dont mind. I just don't want them ruining the other characters. Also he'll probably have more of a personality when he actually likes the people he's around. He isnt even friends with Chie or Yosuke yet. Chie forced herself on him as did Yosuke.

Yosuke's shadow is still just as hilarious

And Yukiko is still as stupid as ever.

Also I love how the only one with a different costume in the opening is Rise

I liked the part with the tv screens during the Shadow Yosuke fight. It was kinda cool.
