Zephrion hangs around the IRC these days (yes, that place you hate), Fireman is just busy with life but still shows up every once in a while, and Bianchi...well, she disappears for a few months and then goes on for a day or two, then disappears again. Rinse and repeat.
Songbird still gets on at least once or so every month, but mostly on MSN. You guys seem to have ragequit MSN though, but if you didn't, we'd have parties all day like in the old days.

I know man. I still wish that kind of stuff happened, but sadly it doesn't happen much any more.

I can kind of understand how you feel.

This is pretty much how I feel about it too.Metal Rabbit wrote:There are so many that I havent seen in a while... we used to have so much fun at SF.

Re: I have an account here?
Yeah. SF was a whole lot of fun.
Then shit got too....something.
But those were the days. Can't complain that they're gone.
If you can get all those guys to show up here, that would be cool. Just to see what they're up to.
Doesn't matter if they stay. Just to hear from them. I mean, we were all good friends.

Re: I have an account here?
SF clearly went down the tubes when I was banned.
God only knows I was the best thing about that site /ego
Seriously though we had some good times and I'll miss 'em but it's best not to dwell on the past.

Well I still go on msn alot just I have no idea if I still have you or never did since people change there names so often
And also I think SF went down after we had another group from another forum merge with us
Re: I have an account here?
True. No reason why we can't remember how good they were.
And we've had some pretty awesome times since then too. Most of the L4D escapades were loads of fun.

Re: I have an account here?
I like to not dwell on the past, but still value my memories from those days.
If only reality could also value them as much.
@Kiba: The FESS merge actually did the site some good in the end. I think the real reason the site hasn't been enjoyable to some of us (and not as enjoyable but still good to others) is that we kind of lost unity after the first year. I'm to blame for this, too.

Though we don't L4D much nowadays...D:

Yeah. Things got bad cause of too much infighting. From everyone.

True, pity we all stopped doing that though.
I know I became an asshole and Masu got a life but I'd still like to see about getting a game going again some time.

Yep, a bunch of us didn't like the changes, a bunch of others just lived with it.
Though we really had impressive unity in the old days (like, in 2008). Even when we all ridiculed you and stuff (sorry if this brings back bad memories or anything), at the end of the day, we were all still friends and laughed with each other. This is something I really miss in SF these days.
Re: I have an account here?
Yeah. I think it's safe to say that Metal Rabbit was like the soul of SF. After he left things weren't the same.
But the FESSers might have added to the infighting. Probably both parties faults. They wanted to take over and have it be theirs. And we didn't like new intruders that didn't want to go through the appropriate rite of passage.
Being fed all the unofficial rules and force fed the sitcom.

I left cause alot of people I knew and liked were getting banned or leaving. I left because it was not the same place anymore. I left because I never fully recovered from being fired like that.
Though... maybe you're idealizing my role in all of it. I helped solve a dispute between you and Masu, I remember that. I did it cause you two were friends and I personally didn't like when friends fight. There was something I could do about it, and I did. That's just the thing, I took things personally and it all led to my fall from grace.

Re: I have an account here?
I think that's part of what made you great though. Hanz and RedFox were there for legal and rule based moderating. You were more for moral.
Still, you made the sitcom, which is what really got the forest going.
Though maybe I am over idealizing your role.
It was really everyone that made it so awesome. And the people are still around I guess. We just gotta get everyone together again somehow. Lol.

Maybe it was Zephirion...
But you were the one who had the biggest influence to it. At least I'd say.

Re: I have an account here?
No offense to Metal Rabbit, but I don't think you can say any one person was the "soul" of SF. We were a group and we worked as one.Mufasa wrote:Yeah. I think it's safe to say that Metal Rabbit was like the soul of SF. After he left things weren't the same.

I don't mean to play Devil's Advocate, but this situation feels like the people complaining that every Pokemon generation after the first 1 or 2 went downhill; blinded by nostalgia. The old days of SF in 2008 were most definitely fun, there's no doubt about that, but there was also quite a degree of stupidity involved. Things didn't really slowdown just because you guys left. All that happened was we got new members to contribute in different ways. It's not been the same, but I wouldn't say it's been better or worse. I still like it.
Saying the FESSers "wanted to take over" is pretty biased if you ask me. The point was made quite strong that they weren't planning a revolution to create FESS 2.0. There were problems with both sides that led to all the fighting, of course, but that wasn't it.
Nowadays SF isn't too active anymore, but I honestly think that part of the reason is because of the decline Fire Emblem seems to be having. We haven't gotten a real new game since Radiant Dawn, and not a new universe since Path of Radiance. Plus, New Mystery has not had any announcements for localization. People are skeptical the game may never leave Japan and I think the fanbase could be seeing the start of its decline if that turns out to be true and FE is either no longer made or no longer localized. Not to sound pessimistic or anything, it's just my theorizing. I'm still holding out hope for a western release of New Mystery.

Sure. Why not? The worst that would happen is that they sit there untouched.
I'd say post em.

No offense taken.
I think maturity was a key factor in people's choice to leave or stay. I don't mean to insult anyone here, but doesn't that sound right if you think about it? Emotional ties, falling out with others, being stubborn? To me they all fall into it.
