Killing Floor
So Arc just got me this game. Its a survival horror 6 player co-op game where you basically fight off waves of zombies/mutants. You can pick different little classes to get extra perks to your character (Right now im a support specialist, so my shotguns have more range and deal more dmg its fucking awesome)
Its awesome and its on steam. Get it. Or if you have it. Say you do. So that we may kill together.

Re: Killing Floor
Absolutely love arc for this game. Berserker(melee) is my favorite class, but I keep getting eaten. Second fav is Commando (machine guns) because it's just as spasmodic as flailing an axe.

Re: Killing Floor
I should do a little guide of tips and shit .o.
General things:
-HEAL PEOPLE. Seriously, if you see that an ally's HP isnt full and youre not about to get mauled then heal them. Medic perk is pretty awesome and when you support eachother like that you will last longer.
-You get money for healing
-Your healing recharges twice as fast when you use it on other people, so if you heal eachother then you'll heal more apiece
-Buy a shield when you have the money, it lets you take significantly more damage
-Try to be close to the trader when there's only a couple enemies left every round. It gives you more time to buy stuff and set up for the next phase. So dont kill them either. They actually disappear sometimes.
-Learn the ammo drop locations, they can save your asses late in the game
-You get discounts for your class weapons as you level up, so you can buy weapons for lower level allies if you need to
-Get the hang of grenades, they're useful when you arent blowing yourself up with them
-If you see a berserker attacking a scrake, LEAVE THEM ALONE. They can take it out by themselves without any harm, and if you attack the scrake you will make it attack the berserker.
Controls:
-b gives money to other players
-q heals yourself fast
-caps lets you use the crappy ingame chat, lets use steam chat or something lol
-g is grenade
-1,2,3,4,5 lets you quick switch to other weapons instead of using the wheel
- \ lets you drop your current weapon so someone else can pick it up
The Classes:
The Zeds:

The Classes:
- Spoiler:
Sharpshooter:
-Learn to aim the pistol well as any class. Getting consistant headshots saves lives and ammo.
-Don't dual wield any gun unless you already have godly aim
-The mangum and revolver are awesome.
-Getting a headshot with the crossbow is a one hit kill on most enemies. Except the fleshpound. That means you can safely take out scrakes before they come and harrass your team.
-Iron sights help until you get a feel for accuracy.
Support Specialist:
-You are god
-You can carry more weight, which means you can use more weapon combinations. Multiclassing is useful sometimes.
-Mouse 3 unwelds doors and counts toward the perk level up, you need ALOT of weld points
-Besides added shotgun damage, you also get penetration bonus. That means if you shoot a row of them they will all die. This is important for clearing out alot of them without using too much ammo.
-Hunting shotgun is good against big enemies, and the mouse 3 is the most powerful attack in the game.
-WATCH YOUR CLIP. its so easy to forget how many shells you have left.
Field Medic:
-Heal
-Heal yourself
-Use the medicgun and learn to aim with it
-You can take a beating because you get armor boosts, and can run faster
-If you can afford to and people arent dropping dead constantly, buy a second weapon and use that because the medic gun doesnt count toward other perk levels
Commando:
-You have weaker attacks but can clear them out very fast
-Mouse 3 makes you toggle between auto and semi fire, i highly suggest you stay on semi unless theres one big enemy. Cause this way you conserve ammo and have better accuracy.
-The reload boost counts for other weapons too, so you dont have to just use SMGs
-This is a hard perk to level, but is generally rewarding in the end
Demo:
-Dont play demo
-No seriously dont play demo
-Level up this perk by throwing grenades, and once you reach like level 3 you can get away with using it. This is a very expensive class to use and requires alot of skill/discipline.
-Even with an explosion defense boost, you can still blow yourself up very easily
-Dont throw bombs at close range. Ever. Just have a 2nd weapon or soemthing for emergencies.
-Pipebombs are awesome and expensive as fuck. use cautiously cause you can blow yourself up if youre near them.
Firebug:
-Its very easy to run out of ammo, so just click lightly
-When using the flamethrower, puff and run. The fire damage does more to them than if you stand there like an idiot burning them and wasting ammo. The exception to the rule is scrakes and fleshpounds. Cause if you try that you're gonna get fucked.
-The Mac 10 is an acceptable weapon for early rounds. Just turn on the semi auto fire and you're golden. Use same strategy as flamethrower.
-You gain fire resistance as you level up, once you get to level 4 you are immune. That means you can stand in the way of a fireball and an ally and take the hit for them with minimal damage.
-Until then though, you need to be careful with the flamethrower because you damage yourself if its too close range
-The husk cannon is expensive and should only be used if you're good with the other firebug weps.
-Your grenades explode into flames at a certain level, instead of blast damage. Sometimes that's better. I like how i can throw them at my feet and not take damage. Good defense.
Berserker:
-Katana is overall best weapon for you, and you can juggle scrakes to death with it.
-Dont melee the little crawler dudes because theyre very hard to hit. You'll end up taking alot of damage so its usually better to use your pistol on them.
-The new claymore is slower but its good because you can hit at a slightly longer range than the katana. Meaning you can play keepaway games too.
-All melee weapons have a power attack by pressing mouse 3, or the wheel.
-Back up when swinging and you can dodge while attacking, useful for crawlers
The Zeds:
- Spoiler:
Clots:
-Easy to kill, weak heads
-If they grab you, you can break away by jumping in the opposite direction
Gorefasts:
-Their heads are extremely weak, use that
-They run fast when you piss them off but they still go down easy
Sirens:
-Her screams piece armor and can neutralize all explosive weapons and blasts (including an enemy husks fireball)
-She's overall frail
Bloats:
-Aim for the head, cause the body has alot of HP
-if you want to melee it without getting vommited on, hit it in the back
-its vommit damages everything, even other zeds
Crawlers:
-VERY ANNOYING, theyre fast, can rack up damage, and are hard to hit as a berserker
-Very hard to headshot
-If it takes more than two shots of anything to kill them, you're doing it wrong
Stalkers:
-You dont have to be a commando to see them coming, they shimmer a little bit and you can SEE THEIR SHADOW COMING
Husks:
-Annoying to deal with, especially as a berserker when you have to be close range
-Have resistance to fire (duh)
-You can jump or sidestep their fireball attack if you time it right and not take damage.
Scrakes:
-They run fast when you piss them off, so if you engage one make sure you can end it quick
-They have explosion resistance, so grenades arent as effective
-The alt fire with most melee weapons can stun it, and even more so if you hit them from behind
-Lots of HP and power, be careful
-They take half damage when theyre running at you
-If an enemy acciidently hits the scrake he will fight them instead to the death
Fleshpounds:
-Highest HP outside the patriarch, and biggest attack
-They dont care about allies, and if theyre in teh way of its attack it will mow them down and kill them to get to you (you can use that to your advantage)
-You can juggle them as a berserker, but its trickier and requires the fireaxe or claymore. Otherwise DO NOT ENGAGE WITH MELEE WEAPONS.
-They are actually slightly weak to explosions. Grenades away.
-They can get pissed off even if you dont hit them. Just run and gun.
Patriarch:
-Set up traps to ambush him with
-That means pipe bombs and waiting around a corner with high level weapons
-He can heal 3 times and then cant anymore, so if you last long enough he will fall
-Extremely powerful, his rockets can OHKO and his melee can cripple
-Try to surround him, set him on fire, follow him. Just make sure to hit him when he's stunned or weakened.

Re: Killing Floor
Hm
I'd give it a shot, but I dunno if my computer would run it. It can't run games like TF2 without overheating too much lately.
Does it work on Mac? I could try it on Mac if it's cross-platform.

Re: Killing Floor
Ooh nice.
I'll prolly get it during the inevitable holiday Steam sale. My bro has had it for a long time and he says he'd get back into it if I got it, which'd be pretty cool.
And thanks for the class overviews! I now know what my main class is going to be: demo.

Re: Killing Floor
Don't you usually get all depressed when you do stuff that requires retarded amounts of skill/practice/discipline, write it off as stupid then hate yourself?
Maybe you should listen to Arc in terms of not playing demo.

Re: Killing Floor
a dead teammate is a non useful teammate.
no really, the least expensive wep for a demo is the M79 launcher which costs over $1000. masu will tell you from experience that even if you survive a wave you'll likely only make a third of that. and you need to resupply your ammo and armor too. armor is important for demos because of how often you'll be blasting yourself from carelessness. even i do it but sometimes you just dont have a choice.

Re: Killing Floor
yea my biggest worry about the game is that I'll fuck up and everyone will hate me. I get enough of that in TF2 already and I got enough of that in L4D to last me for the rest of my life. No more of that shitMetal Rabbit wrote:a dead teammate is a non useful teammate.
Yes but when people tell me to do things I have to do the opposite. Fuck authorityHibiki Ganaha wrote:Don't you usually get all depressed when you do stuff that requires retarded amounts of skill/practice/discipline, write it off as stupid then hate yourself?

Don't commit suicide.

OHHHHHHHHH. I GET IT!
Setting aside the fact that you told me to kill myself, that was actually kinda clever. I like it!
