Future careers, anyone?
Is anyone thinking of/know what they want as a career when they grow up?
I wanna be an astronomer, but... only one college in Indiana has that for a career and idk if I should try go for only one college because I could easily fail to get in...
Also being an astronomer kinda looks hard now that I look more at what I have ta do... It seems to require a lot =D
I need to look for a backup career but I have no idea what to think of doing next. ;_; I still have to work on that.
That's all I have for now. Anyone else?

A math or a history teacher, seems fun, get summers off, and there's a rather low requirement lvl of a school near where I live where I can get my teaching degree, so I don't have to try all that hard

Usually I would hate (x10) being a teacher but when you add the "get summers off" part..............Zwei wrote:A math or a history teacher, seems fun, get summers off, and there's a rather low requirement lvl of a school near where I live where I can get my teaching degree, so I don't have to try all that hard
Still, it's probably not enough to get me to wanna be a teacher xD

English Teacher in Japan - My primary goal, I will probably accomplish this easily considering I can already read a majority of Japanese sites I go to.
Computer Programmer - Secondary Goal
Game Design - Something I tinker with when I'm bored.
Civil Engineer - Building roads, bridges etc.

Re: Future careers, anyone?
I want to make a cartoon with my friend and then have it air on national television, gain enough money to buy the rights to Family Guy, and then stop it for good.
And in order to do that, I'm going to school for Radio and Television production, so I'm probably gonna end up doing something in that feild. I like editing, so I think I want to get involved in that.

Oh man. I hate this question.
Ask me anytime before I was twelve and I'd have told you I wanted to be an author.
Now, if you ask me on odd numbered days, I'll tell you I want to be involved in the medical field, but not as a doctor, nurse or surgeon, or anything typical like that.
But if you ask me on even numbered days, I'll tell you I want to be a social worker or humanitarian aid worker.
And every once in awhile I have a great interest in archeology, as I've always loved history and anything to do with it.
I'm as indecisive as they come. *THUMBS UP*

Some of my friends don't have any idea either, and they hate when people have their whole lives planned out ahead of time.
I on the other hand have a vague idea/goal. It's very likely I'll change my mind again at some point.

I hate that too to be honest. If you're life is completely predictable, then why live it? Life is more fun when you don't know what's gonna happen.Metal Rabbit wrote:Some of my friends don't have any idea either, and they hate when people have their whole lives planned out ahead of time.

And that idea I gave before was just some idea that is likely in the case I'm in right now. I have no clue what I'm doing.
@Song: It's okay for you to not have any clue. I'm not sure how old you are, I assume you're about...16-17. And you don't need to worry about it for a while. Hell, I'm almost 20 and I still have no clue.

Yare yare daze...I've planned my entire life. It's not that I like things when they're predictable, I just like things to go how I want them to. And so far, so good!
It's good to plan ahead. Foresight is the attribute of a great leader.

Uh-oh. I might end up in that field with the course I'm majoring in. I hope I don't end up having to work with you. *Shudders.*

Don't worry, you'll be an editor, a director's sworn enemy.
We can still hate eachother.

Either an Accountant or a Financial planner. If none of those work out, then I can always take my fathers place in his construction company

I still need to find out what I can do if I can't be an astronomer. =/
I wanna be an astronomer cause I always love looking at the stars at night =)
I wanna be a writer but I have a strong feeling that that won't come true. I have one or two stories that I would love to publish when finished (a long long time from now =D ) but I have a strong feeling that they wouldn't really get big or nuthin so I think I should discard that for now.
Anyways... Do you even need to go to college to be a writer?
Also, I think being a director sounds interesting but I don't think I'd have the right imagination for that... =(

You don't have to go to college to be a writer but it does look better and it could help you come up with ideas on how to make your stories more creative and surprising.

I was searching around on a website that could help me and...
I wonder if I could be a surveyor... =o I will keep that in mind cause for some reason it's caught my interest...
I'll now have to search how many colleges in Indiana would have that.
