9/11
As I'm sure you know, like 8 yers ago some terrorists crashed some planes.
Eat your heart out Americans.
In all seriousness, this is a topic dedicated to the lives that were lost on September Eleventh, 2001.
What was your first reaction to 9/11? I was five so I cant remember ._.

Re: 9/11
I think it's safe to say that that was the day I started losing the childhood innocence.
So, it's thanks to the terrorists, that I've become such a horrible corrupt human being.

Re: 9/11
I was in 5th grade or somethin' when it happened...but to be honest. I don't really remember my reaction, if I had one. I was pretty emotionless back then. But I do remember I was confused, and I felt bad for all the families, and I remember my school having a fund-raiser afterwards. But...that's really it.
Re: 9/11
The next few years when America was all up in arms about terorizers and everyone watched NCIS and stuff.
I used to con my way out of going to school each and every 9/11
I say I'm a worse person then Lyle.

I don't see why he got down repped.
I was only in 3rd grade at the time, and I still don't see it as much more then a historical event.
Maybe cuz you guys are old or something...

Re: 9/11
Well I was real young back then.
I just know they showed something on the tv. If my teacher had a terrible reaction when she showed that to us, I had never noticed. Maybe she kept her cool, so I kept mine.
I think I was just like "woah" when I watched the boom. Sadly I didn't care as much as a person should've.

I think the rep thing was a result of me not truely caring for what happen, since it didn't affect me then in any true personal matter. And it only is just a date that makes me wish never happened because people are all like "OMG it's 9/11 we need to remember". WE DON'T NEED TO REMEMBER WE NEED TO MOVE ON

Not to get political but I don't really find him any better or worse than any other politician. They may not be trying to screw us over, but their interests don't really extend pass themselves or their ideals are overexagerated and party based. Thus the government is not the machine I trust to change things for the better. Change possibly but not really a revolutionary change for the better.Ishtar wrote:Did you vote against the first black president? The one who is to change the world? No? Well shaddup then!
Yeah. I didn't get it at all at the time, all i remember was terrorist jokes got popular after that. It was really sad but i didn't and don't take it personal. I think the baddies should pay, but i also chalk up the whole political/cultural mess to people being stupid and possibly greedy so unless its brought up like now I tend to distance myself from it.Crona wrote:I was in 4th grade didn't really care then, don't really care now. I like how millions of soliders die in the war and only a couple of people care. However when 1 old man/woman dies cuz of terrorists, EVERYONE flips the shit about for years to come. STOP HATING ON THOSE OF US THAT PROTECT YO ASS >D:
Re: 9/11
I got siblings in the military, so I always support the troops, if not necessarily the 'cause. I think that's the right attitude to take, cuz only a douche hates on the military. If you must, blame the leaders and be thankful its not your ass out there. Lots of other 1st world countries got conscription, and the others got landmines.

Re: 9/11
I'm getting a severe lack of sympathy/empathy in this topic. I know that this didn't really affect that many of you, but it's amazing how little you guys care for others. 9/11 is a day of mourning for hundreds of people who lost their lives for no reason. The reason you're supposed to remember 9/11 is to remember that at any second your lives could be cut short, no matter who you are, what you do.
But I won't get much into it. I have a heightened sense of empathy compared to just about anyone, and some of you severely lack it, so this is pretty much falling on deaf ears.

as bad as 9/11 was, it is not the worst event in history at all. u cant change it, so ppl should just move on (not forget, just dont make it a huge deal).
on the other hand.....
i do care about my family who were working in the pentagon when tat plane crashed.... but they were on the opposite side and werent hurt, so i didnt rly care afterwards.

Not to pick apart anything your saying, but there's rarely a "reason" for death, just that you go when you go, whether its in a group or alone on the street. I think its really cool that you can feel for people w/out having to reaon it out. Sure our generation is selfish, but I think that this "#'s instead of people"/scripted "what a tragedy, hopefully we can move on" is a defense. If you took every "tragedy" to heart you'd drive yourself mad. "I'm really sorry, but I can't place myself in their shoes" therefore you just end up with a lame "my condolences". Personally I don't need reminders that life is short. I get those all the time, and really I'm a big crybaby if I dwell on it too long. It's why I've devoloped the attitude that may seem apathetic to you. Just gotta keep plowing foward, you know?
