"Hmm.....I wonder how long he's gonna take" Masuyo pondered while waiting outside of Daidara's

"Hey," Shinta waved to Masuyo as he drew near, "Did I keep you waiting?"

"Not really. So how you feeling?"

Shinta shrugged, "I've felt better and I've definitely felt worse." Shinta put his game away and motioned to the door, "Shall we?"

"Okay. Dont push yourself though" Masuyo said as he entered the shop

"I won't," Shinta closed the door behind him, "Hey old man. We're back."

"Hey." Daidara said scratching his head. "Where's the third guy? Busy?"

"Eh, I guess you could say that" Masuyo said grinning. "Got anything new?" he asked as he turned to shinta. "Tell me what you want, its on me this time to welcome you to the group dude" he said smiling

Did he actually say "Into the group?" Shinta thought. With a shrug he replied, "Only thing I'm good with are knives."

"Why do you look a little shocked?" Masuyo said puzzled. "For the record, I dont care about all of that shadow shit. Too complicated for an idiot like me. All I know is that you're a good guy deep down so eh, got my trust at least."

"Hey old man, what knives you got today?"

"Guess I can't argue that," Shinta smirked, "So what's in stock?"

Reika sat down on the bench that looked towards the Samegawa river, "Rai-san," she paused for a moment, "I wrote the last 6 letters you've gotten"

Rai paused for a moment, "So why didn't you ever address the letters."

"I didn't want to because I," Reika stopped, "I didn't want to interupt your studies or anything."

"I get the feeling that isn't the real reason," Rai said sitting down.

"Well, I assumed you were probably already in a relationship with another girl," Reika said kinda weary, "Your very popular with the girls at school and I didn't want to make the other girls, most who are my friends feel betrayed."


"So basically," Rai thought over his answer, "You assumed I had a girlfriend but you continued to give me the letters."

"Yes," Reika said pulling her arms around herself.

"Is there something wrong," Rai said leaning foward looking at the river.

"No its nothing," Reika said.

"So do you have anything to say?" Rai said hoping to make her actually admit it rather than just hide behind her letters.

"Yes I do," Reika seemed to go over her statement carefully, "Rai Natsuyama, I like you," with saying this unable to see his reaction she ran off.

"Wait," Rai stood and attempted to give chase but a group of people got in his way, "Dang," he looked to the bench and picked up the letter, "Well might as well hold on to this one," he grinned to himself, "I'm gonna have to try and talk to this girl some more," with this he turned and began to head home, "Well Masuyo will probably want to know all the details."

Reika easily lost Rai, she was on the track team afterall, "I couldn't see his reaction today, maybe another time but I can't see it today."

Shinta twirled his new knife before putting it away and stepping outside with Masu, "Thanks old man. I'll be sure to find some materials for you next time." Shinta waved goodbye as he left. "Heh, you know it's pretty bizarre."

"Well then," Shinta stood up and stretched, "I'd say that went pretty well. You?"

"It went better than I hoped," Rai said as he relaxed a bit.

Shinta shrugged, "I can only imagine. Still I guess when you consider our party you can't expect too much."

"I am trying to get everyone to get a long but its not going to well." Rai said looking at the sky.
