So...Happy Mother's day to me

So I had work today, and earlier in the morning I was talking to my parents, and we got to talking about how my laptop is old, and I could really use a new one without Vista in order to really get the benefits of an edit system and stuff like that for my major and what I want to do with my life.

So then they asked me how much a laptop with that kind of stuff would cost. So I said, probably about 1000 dollars. Which is way out of my price range if I want to eat more than three meals a week and drive to school all the days that I need to.

So later on in the evening, after I get home from work and my grandmother is home, we start talking about when I'm going to graduate, which is soon. So my mother says: "Well Mike, maybe you'll get a graduation gift from someone." And I'm like: "Why? It's not that big a deal and I still have another two years to go at my second school." So she says: "Well I wasn't talking about me."

So to keep things short, my grandmother gave me a fucking check for 1000 dollars. At first I refused flat out. But she practically put the damn check in my pocket so I guess I'm 1000+ now. But not really, cause I gotta spend it on a new laptop.


So yeah. I have the best grandmother in the world. Now I have to do research on laptops. And I'm not getting a Mac. Using a mac is like trying to find your way through a maze with a blank piece of paper.
