Tales of Vesperia RP

Alright folks it's the start of a new month and as such I'm opening up a new RP for people to join in on. And since this started out as a Tales Forum, it seems only natural that we'd start with a Tales RP. There are two main groups for a player to join: The Knights or The Guilds. As the knights you'd work your way through the ranks and complete various missions, while as part of the guilds you'd take on various odd jobs for money. But anyone who's played Tales will know, there's always much more to it than that.

Fighting Style/Artes: A combination of basic fencing and sound-based magic, although he prefers to call it art.
Mystic Arte: Eternal Sonata-a series of highly powerful magic attacks.
Description: Average build, aqua eyes and navy hair.
Personality: Relaxed and easy-going, yet can be serious if need be. Loves music and nature. Tends to speak in a poetic, almost theatrical manner.
Backstory: Raised on stories about the adventures his grandfather had working in the guilds.

Weapon of choice: Swords/Lances
Fighting Style/Artes: The Standard Cless Tales Swordsman fighting style. One or two low level Magic artes.
Mystic Arte: Electric Breaker: Impales his enemy and encases his sword in lightning, the lightning hits multiple times.
Description: Brown hair and eyes, Tall, Not very muscular, Wears a white and green shirt over leather armour. Also has a hat.

Personality: Snarky, Pervy and a bad case of chronic hero syndrome.
Backstory: A Merchant's Son from Capua Nor, growing up under the opressive reign of a corrupt governer he came to dispise the empire and soon left to join up with The Guilds in Dahngrest. However his gambling, girl chasing, and seeming lack of motivation got him denied by most guilds, he's still in the market so to speak.

Name: Lucianna (Lucy) Henbar
Age: 18
Hometown: Mantiac
Weapon of choice: Dagger

Fighting Style/Artes: Hell Pyre, Beast, First Aide, Cresent Moon, Ghost Wolf, Demon Spear, Theivery.

Mystic Arte: Skull Splitter - Lucy is uses her mana to boost her speed and strength in order to plunge her dagger into an enemy's head at full force, without giving them a chance to dodge.

Description: Fairly tall for a girl, she dresses in black cloth. Being raised in a desert area as Mantiac is, she often has a scarf around her neck that trails behind her to keep her warm. As with the scarf, she wears her hair in a long ponytail, it being the same raven color as her clothes. She is often mistaken to be either a theif or a ninja, but she simply understands the value of being able to be stealthy at night, as well as her own personal preference to wear black.

Personality: Lucy has difficulty getting along with most people, it takes a lot to earn her respect. She doesn't like being around people and tends to keep her problems to herself. However, behind the bitterness she has deep emotions she likes to hide. (I know, rather cliche, but what do you want from me?)

Backstory: Raised in Mantiac, she earned a living through escorting merchant caravans across the desert. Through that, she built up her endurance to heat, and ability to battle. As her skills improved, her distaste for large groups of people pushed her away from escorting caravans, and when she had sufficient funds, she decided to travel to larger cities as a mercenary. Hunting monsters, collecting items, dirty jobs. She was even offered to join the Hunting Blades, however she declined due to her dislike of people. Instead, she continued being a merc, giving her loyalty neither to the Empire, or the guilds.

Weapon of Choice:None
Fighting Style/Artes: Axel uses no weapon, for he shoots various elemental shots from the tips of his fingers for basic defense. He's adept at casting magic, and specializes in Lightning,Wind and Ice elemental spells. He took up class for healing arts after a traumatic event in the arena that he suffered, but is still a beginner.

Mystic Arte:Spirits Burst- Axel uses every ounce of mana wihtin him to combine all of his elements into one self destructive "elementless" blast. He has never used the skill for he fears getting hurt since the skill harms his body physically, but it restores his allies to full fighting power in return.

Description:Axel is about 5''7, with redish brown hair and hazel eyes and has a rather fragile build to match his cowardly personality. Despite always feeling vunerable, axel wears no form of armor, as it feels restricting to him. Instead he travels around in a red shirt with blue shorts, and a cloak to protect him from weather conditions.

Personality:Axel is extremely timid and afraid of just about everyone, but at the same time tries to be as polite as possible to those around him. He despises the guilds and the knights, but is indebted to a knight from zaphias for saving his life.

Backstory:Axel was born in the dark streets of Dhangrest, and always bullied around by other people because of his personality and dislike of fighting. His father and mother were killed by the members of leviathan's claw when axel was only 12. Axel tried to learn to fight to avenge their deaths, but he just wasnt meant to be a fighter. He began to be made fun of and beaten up on a daily basis for being a failure, despite having such great fighters for parents. On his 16th birthday he was framed for attacking and killing an aristocrat that the knights were escorting being told "The culprit used magic,wore a cape and was in his teens" and was thrown into prison for two weeks. When he thought he was being released, he was instead forced to fight against monsters, and even people in the arena of nordopolica for peoples entertainment. Being physically weak, Axel stood no chance against any agile opponent who could get to him before he could use a spell, and was stabbed through the chest by a spear and taken for dead.

Weapon of choice:Falcon Talons
Fighting Style/Artes:A variety of punch's and kicks, manly focus is on technique; but he's also a beginner in magic.

Mystic Arte:Moon Flower Dance - He sends the enemy flying a flurry of punch's and then does a downward spin straight on his opponent, if multiple enemies then adds a mirage in the mix.

Description:6"0, Blue eyes, orange hair; in fit as all knights should be, for now wears the standard armor all knights wear.

Personality:Has lots of energy so he uses it on something he thinks is worthwhile, although he prefers to be alone he will fight with others if need be.

Backstory:Ever since he was born, people said to aim to become a scholar, but he wanted something different and when he saw the knights he became curious with them. Now he aims to be at the top of the knights if possible. Since he comes from Aspio people think he will never make it and should go back to being a scholar.

Name: Kitao
Age: 19
Hometown: Dhangrest
Weapon of choice: Crossbow and small bombs
Fighting Style/Artes: He has different types of Crossbow bolts. For example, Explosive bolts, fire bolts, ice bolts. He can also throw normal or flash bombs.
Mystic Arte: Impact Barrage: He fires several unlit explosive bolts in succession. They do minor damage when they hit but don't explode at first. When he expends his ammo, he throws a bomb into the fray and all of the bolts explode at the same time.
Description: At 5"11, he has brown hair, tanned skin and black eyes. He usually wears an open shirt with an undershirt on, loose fitting shorts or pants.
Personality: An easy going guy that likes to have fun. He cracks jokes and is somewhat of a pervert.
Backstory: He lived with his grandparents ever since his mother and father left to travel the world to make a fortune at 13. He didn't mind because they were having trouble feeding the whole family. He helped his grandparents out with the house chores and went out to play when he felt like it. At first, his parents visited a lot and sent a few letters. But as the months rolled on to years they started visiting less and sending more letters. When he turned 17, his parents visited for the last time, his father handed him a crossbow for his birthday. His father told him to train with it for protection. A year passed and he still received the occasional letter or package from his parents. He had worked that year to move out, so he can let his grandparents live in peace. He of course kept up with his training. He received a letter from his parents not long after the decision was made; telling him he should move out it also contained money to help him move out. Now he's on his own wanting to join the guilds so he can adventure around a bit like his parents.

What time in the game does this rp take place in or is it independent from the timeline of the game?

It's sort of a before and during deal. It starts off before the game starts but events from the game may be mentioned from time to time.

Also, sorry guys but from Wednesday to Friday and maybe Saturday I won't be able to post or get on TC at all.

It's cool. Right now it seems like all our characters are doing their own thing. Which I think is good. We can all progress the story without having to rely on someone else to post.

Name: Emi Kaltzburg

Age: 24

Hometown: Zaphias

Weapon: Gauntlets and Shin guards

Fighting Style/Arte: Hand-to-Hand style using both hands and feet

Mystic Arte: Ashen Fists, Emi splits into three and beats on on them from everydirection finishing with a heavy kick.

Description: Blonde hair, emerald eyes, almost 6' tall, slightly tanned, wears sleevless shirt and shorts to allow for eased movement, leather boots. Slightly muscular.

Personality: Very helpful and friendly, but annoyed by people who keep to themselves or who miss hints.

Backstory: Born and raised in Zaphias she had a certain love and hate for the Empire, she was proud of her country but ashamed of their corrupt leaders and knight captains. She learned to fight with her fists and feet from travelers who visited the city. She left Zaphias for reasons she keeps to herself. Eager to experiance the world she setoff on the road and eventually ended up in Dahngrest, seat of the Guilds.

Name: Cein Mercaid

Age: 23

Hometown: Nordopolica

Weapon: Sword and Dagger, with magic as support

Fighting Style/Arte: Fights in a self taught style relying on balance between attack and defence, has some magic ability

Mystic Arte: Raging Crucible, Cein sets fire to his blades and flys into the enemy attacking multiple times, he finishes off by stabbing both blades into the target and slashing out, causing an explosion.

Description: About 6'3", lean and fit, dark brown hair, tied back out of the way, and light brown eyes, leather chest piece, dark blue shirt, black shirt, leather gauntlets and boots.

Personality: Calm and casual, is direct when the situation calls for it. Tries to get along with everyone, is annoyed when people are selfish.

Backstory: Born in Nordopolica he learned to fight by observing people participating in the arena there, being born around the guilds he prefers the guild's method of running things over the empire. He earned a reputation as a freelance guard by working as a guard for the ferrys going from Nordapolica to Torim Harbor. While he has been approached by a couple of guilds he still is not affliated with any of them yet.

So any rules on posting in this aside from no double posting?

No dbl posting, and try to post at least once or twice a day. We'll probably ask something through PM or on the chatbox if you havent posted in a while without giving notice (like how James did above).

Fighting Style/Artes:Excels in magical combat with some of her own spells being her own she also has healing artes as well for balance.
Mystic Arte:Dark Hole:Jun pools together a huge amount of dark magic and opens a minature black hole which drags her enemies into it.
Description:Stands at the height of 5"12 with a swimmers build has waist length purple hair with black highlights and violet coloured eyes.
Personality:Compassionate and quite easy to get along with but even with a calm demeanor she can be very volatile if push comes to shove.
Backstory:Born and raised in Capua Nor her parents had to give her up after the continued rise in taxes and other reasons she had not been told so she lived on the streets and came to hate the nobility and the rules of the empire and left at the age of 19 to go join a guild in Dahngrest.

I am glad to be on board though I saw that alot of the characters posted seemed more fighter orientated and Rita is my second favourite character next to Yuri I went black mage/healer role.
