Shonen Jump! Ultimate Stars
So yeah, its like melee/brawl. But with characters from Shonen jump comics (Bleach Naruto Yugioh Reborn YuYuHakusho DBZ BlackCat and lots moar). You get to customize a "page" of characters by fitting characters taken from panels from their respective mangas onto the botom screen to make a team. 1 koma (pannel) characters are "Helpers" who just have status effects on any battle characters they are assigned to. 2-3 koma characters are supports, and do various things from attacking, to healing, to giving you stat ups or completely outlandish things (like 3 koma Hibari dragging the person he hits to the edge of the stage, and throwing them off the cliff like he tries doing at the start of reborn.) The main thing about page creation for your team, is putting supports that string well with your fighter's attacks to do massive dmg and long combos.
4-8 pannel characters are battle characters. All battle characters have helper and support versions too, and of course, the more pannels, the more dmg they do and the more HP they have. BUT, the less panels, the more supports/battlers you can fit into your page. Yeah its cool to have a 8 panel sasuke with tons of helpers to buff him, but fall off a cliff once and you're done as compared to a person with four 4 panel fighters. Though only "important" characters from really popular mangas have an 8 panel version (Ichigo,Naruto,Sasuke,Goku,Kenshiro,Luffy) Theres three "types" of characters in the game. Power, Knowledge, and Laughter. Im sure you can put two and two together and assume that, a character like Naruto would be Power and Laughter orientated, while a character like Rukia would be Knowledge. Majority of the characters have two types depending on how they are in the show, but some have only one (i belive rukia ONLY has knowledge), or a surprising style (Like kakashi having Laughter instead of power)
Its sorta like a weapon triangle. Power is weak to Laughter, Knowledge is weak to Power, Laughter is weak to Knowledge. Any attacks or specials or supports that do damage, from an opposing type does 1.5 normal dmg.
Its not a new or recent game though, I got this and played the hell out of it back in tenth grade (five years ago) and it's still amazing due to its seemingly limitless amount of customization due to around 50 playable fighters, and over 150 supports. It also has wifi, which bishop and I played a ton of. If anyone is interested I can post the English Patched version of this game on TC (i believe DS emulators have wifi capabilities even on the computer) so you can enjoy it. Its definitely worth a shot.

Re: Shonen Jump! Ultimate Stars
Well talk about a shit load of cast, though I am glad that they didn't decide to use a death note character in battle.

Re: Shonen Jump! Ultimate Stars
This game seemed pretty good, from the limited time I was able to play it.
Shame I can't understand the text. For a game that requires this much setup (the decks and all that), that's pretty important.
Otherwise I'd probably have tried to get it somehow

Theres an english patch. If people on the site get into it you should try it out on a emulator since they do have wifi abilities

Re: Shonen Jump! Ultimate Stars
I've had the English ROM for a while. It's a really cool game, but without people to play, it gets boring quick.
I still need to unlock the JoJo characters so I can have a complete(ly awesome) deck. I guess I'll post my decks sometime later when I can be arsed to run the game.

Roah and kenshiro are awesome characters in it, as well as Kenshin and tsuna
Re: Shonen Jump! Ultimate Stars
Oh man I played this a few years back on a borrowed emu. It was the sweetest shit ever, and that was before I even knew that much about Jump. Too bad they never released a NA version, far as I know, 'cause I don't have a way to download this. *sigh*

Raoh, not Roah, and yes, the first two you listed are the ones in my main deck. Raoh is so broken I don't even know how.

Well, can't really blame him. His schedule's kind of full, to put it lightly.
If I remember, I'll look for it myself, and if I find it, I'll put it on here.
