I thought this was really interesting, and I figured I needed to share it with everyone here. Especially since under the category of "adventure" for the gamecube, one of the games considered was Tales of Symphonia. It lost to Windwaker, which I assumed won primarily due to it's Zelda brand (Not to knock it, it's still my favorite Zelda game, and an awesome game at that.) but the fact that Symphonia was considered is still really cool. I'm not sure how many games on the cube would have fallen into the Adventure Category, but Symphonia being considered to be put in such an exhibit is really cool.
Also, on my Zelda theory, the fact that it won due to it's Zelda brand is supported by the fact that Zelda won in three different categories. I mean, probably cause Zelda defined an entire brand, but still. It seems a bit unfair.
Anyway, Discuss.

I particularly liked the five at the end, the ones available for people to actually play for a while.
Pac-Man, Super Mario Bros., Secret of Monkey Island, Myst, and World of Warcraft. Those are some of the best examples of video games in general, I think. And these guys think so too, apparently.

The thing won credibility for me when Bioshock won against Halo 3 and Call of Duty for Action on the 360. These guys know how to recognize quality.

Crap PDF can't view it on the wii...
So wait...I'm confused, what is it exactly? Like, video awards or something?

Not really. More like a museum piece than anything.

Oh, so they were like, nominating/considering games to be displayed in an art gallery? That's cool.

Yeah. I think so. I'm not sure.

They did the nominations and voting a while back. This is the list of games that are confirmed to be in the showcase.Kilvas wrote:Oh, so they were like, nominating/considering games to be displayed in an art gallery? That's cool.
There are a wide variety from all across the console and genre spectra. It's pretty cool.
