Meh.
At first I saw "Kratos" and got excited, thinking it was Symphonia.
But then I remembered Kratos is the name of that super atheist guy from God of War.

Frankly, I've grown out of Smash bros. And a competitor wouldn't really do much more for me then Smash does. If I have the extra money, I'll buy it, maybe. If there's nothing else good out.

And by that I mean No.

This is awesome cause this means more games Frank west can appear in (or just to taunt us, Chuck)

I would think they would at least put one Tales character in. Someone like Jude or Milla.

Or maybe a call back to someone from one of the old games.

Smash bros got boring for me. I'll play it as a gift. But not as a full price game.

There's a character reveal coming today at 9. I'm hyped.

Seems to me like Sony's running out of ideas. Not saying Nintendo isnt either. Gaming in general seems to be running out of ideas and originality as of late. Maybe it's just me.

It's probably less "out of ideas" and more "the execs want to make safe products with a high chance of selling". Repeating successful formulas is an easy way to go about it. But you are right.

That's why indie games are the way to go for originality. Those guys make games because they love games, with money as a secondary concern.

Also, Sony running out of ideas? You mean because they're copying Smash Bros, right?
Frankly, I'm disappointed they didn't copy it sooner. Now we can see how a different company handles things.

They've got some pro fighting game dudes on board, and you can do combos. Right away, you can tell they're taking it more seriously than Smash Bros.' tripping/exploding extravaganza. Plus, the PS3 has a good online service.

They even said you can disable the stage effects if you want!
Do you know how many times I've gone "I hate those stupid bombs on the Wind Waker stage it would be great if not for that"?

I don't think I know a single person who is interested in this game. Hopefully I can change people's opinions just a little bit with these reveal trailers. They're pretty good.

Combos.

I'm normally not a big fan of combos, but these are fairly short, and more importantly: They reinforce the idea that this is basically Smash Bros. if it were an actual fighting game. Yes, please.
