Halo ODST

We all know that this is coming out, and it's coming out fairly soon I believe, but I don't know anything about it. I AM curious though, for boredom reasons.

So, will someone who knows about this game tell we what the hell it's all about? I was pretty sure they ended the thing with Halo 3.

I saw a commercial for it last night. Didn't make any sense. Then again, I know nothing about Halo anyway. =x

Why not just ask me because I will more than likely know

It comes out tomorrow three days before the two year aniversery of Halo 3.

It takes place either before or after the Covenant Flagship decided to jump into slipspace inside the city of New Mombasa, and it's in the role of the ODST. So consider it kinda like Techia 776 since it's a midquel or however those words are spelled.

The ODST are Oribital Drop Shock Troopers, basically think of them as the Green Berets of the Halo Universe. With the best armor and tactical knowledge outside of the Spartan Program. There has been long animosity between the ODST branch of the Marines and the Spartan Program, since the ODST thought they were getting replaced.

Third one is one of the Fire Emblem games for the SNES,
Second one is a fictional (?) city in Africa,
First one is basically hyperspace

Also if I really wanted to I could probably write a pretty long page paper bout this series

If it sells it'll never die. Why do you think they're making another Lord of the Rings movie?

But as long as the game is good it doesn't really matter why it was made, as far as I'm concerned.

If you want to say that but it also gives more back story into what happened to Earth after we left it in Halo 2 before the events of Halo 3.

Also MaSu it won't help you that this game will also come with the ablity to participate in an open beta for Halo Reach.

Well, if a series has already ended, then it should be over. If you missed something along the way that you wanted to develop on, then that's your fault and you should have done that before. Everyone already knows how it ends.

In fact, the very fact that there IS another game coming out means the series ISN'T over

But it was already ended. I'm fairly certain when there's a big happy ending and all the bad guys are dead, and all the lame plot developments have been tied up, that the series is over.

Trust me if there was enough official back story for 6 books, a graphic novel and now a spin off game, I highly doubt that all of the plot developments have been tied up to Bungies degree of done

It's really easy to go "AND THEN A NEW THREAT APPEARED" should companies/fans want a sequel etc.

Not that it applies here, apparently this is a "midquel"

So what? Halo=Star Wars now?

Mass Effect was a game that could be congratulated for it's epic story. Halo can only be congratulated for it's obsessively large cult that it's collected. Honestly, I can't think of one aspect in the game that hasn't been done better in another game. The weapons are unsatisfactory, the enemies are annoying as hell no matter what difficulty you're playing on, the story is just short of ridiculous, and the only character I could relate to was the Arbiter. And only because he looked upon all the people in this game as the ridiculous idiots that they all were.
