God Symphonia is awesome

So last night around 10pm I was bored and decided to pick this up for a bit. At the most recent save, I was just at the point of severing the manalinks. And now, about 10 hours of playing later (Give or take with breaks for food and sleep and etc, you know, that stuff that doesn't matter as much) I beat the game.

It just goes to show how awesome Symphonia was. How I could pick it up after however many times I've played it, and just blow through it that much without getting bored or anything. It's just that awesome. It's so rare to find a game that good, and I don't think any game I could just do that in. Persona 4 comes close. But Symphonia just has some kind of charm to it that no other game does.

Maybe it's cause it's a childhood favorite, but am I wrong here? Is it just me that thinks Symphonia is just utterly fantastic? Sure there are plenty of flaws in it, but it's just so damn good that it doesn't matter.

And I just love everyone in the game. Yes even Collette. For all my posturing, I love her just as much as any other character in the game. It's like, if there is an eternal afterlife, then I want to spend at least a lifetime's worth of time in that world, hanging out with Lloyd, and Zelos, and Genis, and everybody. It would even be worth having to put up with Emil and Marta later on.

I almost cried after I beat it. They're just all so cool. Even Regal, who barely ever emotes when he speaks, and has almost no reason to be there half the time.

I'm just on a Symphonia high. Discuss. Any negative comments on Symphonia will earn you a warn. D:<

Lol. I loved ToS. Zero and I have beaten it like 13 times, the game's drilled in our heads. Lol.

I've played it at least 20 times.

I lost count around the time I could quote entire scenes just before the characters said the words.

I'm gonna try before I die to be able to recite the entire game by heart.

I would've played it more, but I played Baten Kaitos alot too. I have as much sentimental value for that and FE9 as I do Symphonia. FE9 especially. Lol.

I didn't like ToS at first and I thought it looked dumb, then 2 years later I got interested in the tales series and then tried it again. Gotta say I missed out big time but then again at that time, I was more of a FF and sport/racing person.

Man I love playing this game, I like to play it and get the different endings which puts a nice twist on things, kinda makes me want to play it now but I have about 12 other games going right now......

It's like. I still have Disgea 3 to play. But I just can't get into it.
Symphonia, I can pick it up at anytime and play through to the end in one sitting if needed.
It would be a long sitting, but I could do it. It wouldn't be boredom that stopped me at the very least.

I know I want to play through Symphonia at least once a year from now on. It's picking it up that's the problem for me. Cause I don't want to take time away from other games.

In short, I feel ya Roz. But Symphonia is just magical.

Edit: Another example. I LOVE La Noire. Best game I've played in a while. I played through it in about 2 1/2 days straight. Give or take various interruptions. But towards the end I was getting bored tired and confused with it. Still loved it enough to keep playing to the end. But I would never feel that way about Symphonia. A couple of dungeons I dislike, but still, I keep going.

Never owned it, but I borrowed it from Masu. He is now my best friend. go figure.

Yeah. Playing through Symphonia just makes me angrier at Namco for making that fucking spinoff crap. It was just like. And epic let down.

The best game ever. Getting a sequel. The game that defined most of my personality, and game me numerous hours of entertainment and enlightenment.

And then they give me Marta, Emil, Tenebre, a bunch of strangers disguised as my old friends and a half-baked plot.
Very disappointing.

I have to play this game again. Since Namco Bandai is localizing Xillia, after Graces, it's renewed my faith in them, but they're on a short leash.

I don't mind if it takes a long ass time for them to localize games, so long as it happens, and we don't get strung along.

If Xillia sells well, I see no reason for them not to localize Xillia 2. I kinda hope they'll localize Innocence R too. But that's a long shot.
