Finishing Persona 4

I'm in a 2nd playthrough of P3:FES and a 3rd playthrough of Devil Survivor. I love these games.

As a professional forum stalker I've heard nothing but good things about P4, so I ordered it.

From what I gather:
-You don't commit ritual suicide to summon personas in here
-No tartarus, but you watch TV instead
-Overall is easier than P3's main story
-A character is confused about his sexuality
-In order to get the best ending, you gotta know what you're doing ahead of time


I know some of you have played it, so what else can you tell me WITHOUT SPOILERS?

Persona 4 is great, really overall the story for P4 is more lighthearted and alittle more happier than P3 which has the never ending forboding feeling of death looming around every corner.

You summon Persona's by crushing the card that holds the Persona's image, I can give you a basic idea of the story you persue a murderer that murders someone whenever the fog comes in then they show up hanging in some area of town. That is without spoilers really but I can't give much more.

You don't have to keep yourself in a healthy condition, but if you go to the World where the shadow's are you are done for that day with the exclusion of your cousin and uncle's social links.

lol, is that like FES's devil and tower social links? I do those and BS at the arcade when my party members are too tired from tartarus.

-Max out Nanako and Dojima's Slink ASAP. You have a time limit on those because of the story.
-Max out Yosuke's Slink asap because he is the best party member besides the protagonist, and his 2nd lvl persona is god.
-You cannot buy SP(mp) recovery items. EVER. Try your damned hardest to NOT use ANY till the 6th dungeon on as the battles get obscenely long and SP heavy.
-Date Rise, shes hot. Well so are Yukiko and Chie. But, Rise. Yeah. Rise.
-NEVER, and I mean NEVER go straight to bed without either talking to Nanako/Dojima or studying or working on a job. Or reading a book. Its wasted personality/Slink points if you go straight to bed.
-Up your "Expression" and "Understanding" asap, you will need them for Nanako and Dojima's later Slink levels
-If its ever raining BEFORE the time limit for saving someone is up, dungeon crawl. Item drop rates shoot up when you dungeon crawl when its raining.
-Get a persona with Mind Charge ASAP, and keep said persona (or at least a persona with that skill) for the rest of the game. That way later bosses aren't a uber pain in the ass.

Naoto's social link isn't all that bad but thats just me and she does make a nice addtion to the end game party cause of mind charge and almighty spells.

Yeah... I made the mistake of using up all my SP items just grinding. Had to use Somas for the later bosses, so I know better now.

So Yosuke, huh? For the love of god tell me he's only like Junpei in personality.

I didnt up Naoto's at all cuz by the time I got her endgame was coming and I hadn't maxed out Yukiko or Teddie yet. And I wanted my battle party maxed out before others. Though I saw the cutscene what happens if you beat the game before xmas and you have naoto be your girlfriend. Soooooooooooooooooo worth maxing her out >

Hm? Battle wise? Hes jesus. Hes considered "Balanced", but hes fricking insane. High crit rate compared to others, can heal, has nice magic, and great str stat/moves too. Also learns Masukunda or whatever, a move that ups the party's dodge rate AND their hit rate. And it works on bosses too, including the final boss to boot.

Final Boss: IMMA USE MY ALL PARTY RAPE FEST ATTACK! *attacks*

Freaking final boss was always trying to rape yosuke cause whenever rozen (main char) would get her attention with Vorpal Blade, he would pull her attention back. His stat growths with his ultimate persona are unreal.

The final boss was pissing me off because it's all party 1 hit kill move would ONLY hit yosuke. Its like the game said "WE MADE YOSUKE TOO AMAZING QUICK TAKE HIM OUT!"

So how hard is it compared to Nyx?

True Ending Final Boss makes Nyx look like a pansy....

Nyx wasn't hard for me, but that's hardly encouraging.

Just don't go into the fight expecting to win, these bosses are pretty hard...

My impressions after trying it out:

-The opening hours are longer here than P3
-The young cop who works with your uncle is none other than Matsuda
-Yukiko is a filthy filthy girl
-Teddie (that's all)
-These people make living in the big city out to be some huge deal
-Hanging out around Yosuke is never a dull moment
-Teddie (again)

Well to the Japanese there is kinda a social gap from the Rural towns and their people and the Urban Cities and their people, and Yes Inaba is a rural town by Japanese standards.

YOSUKE IS THE BEST CHARACTER.

Waahhh, I feel more overwhelmed here than in P3. There's too much to do after school!

Part time job, raising stats, social links, and jumping into the TV world. Plus the rain fucks up what I wanna get done... but I must tolerate!


I'm now just starting Kanji's dungeon.

Beat the good ending boss and I'm now getting ready for the true ending boss. T_T

Got through most of the game bosses with Yosuke, Yukiko and Teddie.

Most used persona was the indispensible Black Frost!

Maxed links this time were:

-Emperor
-Priestess
-Justice
-Hierophant
-Sun
-Strength
-Temperance
-Devil
-Justice
-Star
and I ALMOST maxed Moon.

BEAT true ending boss! Took me 3 tries, fusing Norn and grinding to level 85. 8D

Raped true ending boss on my 1st try with Sigfreid powercharge+god's hand rapeage.

The true ending boss was annoying more than challenging, Margaret is a different story though....

She had killed me twice before by using world's end + summons to yomi. The only thing I did differently this time was have MC guard more often.
