"Uh. That one is the zaraki flower." Shigure said as he pointed at Yahiko's right hand. "It looks like true beauty, beauty obtained through fighting to obtain what little you can get."

Yahiko chuckled, "A poetic answer-degozaru. However...I don't even know the answer. I shuffled them along the way back. So you could be right or you could be wrong." Yahiko laughed and turned to his barracks, "I enjoy our talks, however I must head back now. One more thing: if true beauty is gained from a life of hardship, then what is gained from a life of comfort?" Yahiko disappeared leaving his question to linger in the air.

"A life of comfort? Absolutely nothing." Shigure said as he vanished to inform his captain of his change of heart about becoming a captain.

"Greetings captain, okay I suppose I currently am having a break from report and information filing so I am enjoying the free time." Mashashi said watching the sky for a moment before looking down.

"Ah. Well, I won't bother you too much then. Rumor is, that you're the favorite among the vice captains chosen to become captains in training. The one from squad 2 is a bit of a dunce, and the one from my squad has a severe case of apathy." He cracked his neck to try and ease his tension. "Still. I won't give up on Shigure. If I didn't think he could do it, then I wouldn't have suggested it to him." He shook his head. "Well, enough of that sappy crap. How goes your training?"

"Well enough, my ability to use my blade is going well though I need to work on controlling it a bit more, when the blade slashes out it tends to go multiple directions rather than the direction I desire." Mashashi said as he fingered the hilt of his sword.

"Hm. I could see where that would be a problem. But it's important right now to focus on attaining Bankai. So you're on the right track. But of course, that's no excuse to forget your other trainings either."

"To be fully honest captain," He paused, "Becoming a captain is not a major thing I am shooting for.

"Huh. Mind if I inquire why not?"

"It's just something I don't want to pursue," Mashashi said plainly, "Probably because I don't want the position."

Yahiko returned to his barracks and was greeted by his troops. "Welcome back Captain."
"I'm back," he replied with a smile, "which reminds me, is Takeshi-dono here?"

""Enough of that sappy crap" is what you shoulda said to me earlier cap." Shigure said appearing behind his captain. "It was so sappy that it hurt." he said with a grin on his face.

"....? What's gotten YOU in a good mood all of a sudden?"

"I think I will take my leave of now then good day," Mashashi walked around the two and went on his way.

"Huh. Well, what's up with you Shigure?"

"Nothing. Though i've decided to play along and go with this Captain contest for now. Something useful may come out of it after all" Shigure said.

"Huh. Well, at the very least, you'll get stronger. I gotta warn you though, it won't be too easy."

"Figures. I'll go reevaluate on if this is worth the effort or not." Shigure said as he scowled

Yahiko paced through the halls searching through every room in the barracks. "This is weird-degozarurna. Where could he be?"

"Geeze. Is your resolve that weak? You'll never help anyone like that."

"Okay. Thanks for letting me know. I'll inform you when i start caring." Shigure replied as he left.

"Tch. What would Suzu think of you giving up so easy?"

"She'd get sad and cry. Im use to it." he said down the hallway

"Huh." Shinichi flash stepped in front of him. "Alright then, how about this for incentive? You become captain, and you'll never have me bothering you again. Hell, you could even try to kill me if you want."

"Look, I dont dislike you at all, its just that you always try acting like you're my mother or something. And "I dont want to hear my cap bother me" is a pathetic reason to become a captain. But if you think im that petty, then whatever." Shigure said with an angry expression on his face
