STEP 1Anyone who is interested in trying THE RPG must first make a character like so:
Step 1. Choose a race
Step 2. Choose your stats
Step 3. Choose your starting skills
Step 4. Choose your name and appearance

- There are six races to choose from: Humans, Penguins, Constructs, Ghosts, Food, and Demons.
Humans: Widespread and adaptable.
+2 Vitality, +2 Strength, +2 Dexterity, +2 Energy
-Killing enemies restores HP and MP. What a rush!!
-Increased persuasion chance.
-Racial superpower forces enemies to believe anything they say.
Penguins: The tough northern race.
+3 Vitality, +2 Strength, +3 Dexterity, 0 Energy
-Cannot use magic, but can use physical skills more often.
-Weak against Fire, but resistant to Ice.
-Increased HP regeneration.
-Racial superpower makes them immune to damage.
Constructs: Abandoned robotic soldiers.
+3 Vitality, +3 Strength, +1 Dexterity, +1 Energy
-Cannot use magic, but can use plasma devices, which draw upon Energy.
-Weak against Ice and Electricity.
-Immune to poison, disease, and mental effects.
-Cannot eat or drink, and healing spells are half as effective.
-Increased HP and PP regeneration.
-Racial superpower lets you remember a devastating ability.
Ghosts: The powerful undead race.
+1 Vitality, +1 Strength, +2 Dexterity, +4 Energy
-Can phase through solid objects and hover.
-Healing effects are half as effective.
-Weak against Light, but resistant to Shadow.
-Racial superpower lets them possess an enemy.
Food: A lost race of spiritualists.
+4 Vitality, 0 Strength, +1 Dexterity, +3 Energy
-Receives a bonus based on food type.
-Cannot use weapons, but can carry an extra accessory.
-Maximum MP increased.
-Weak against Bio and Shadow, but resistant to Light.
-Can give HP to allies.
-Committing an evil act causes you to be cursed.
-Racial superpower allows you to resurrect yourself.
Demons: Spirits born from the planet’s core.
+1 Vitality, +2 Strength, +2 Dexterity, +3 Energy
-Receives several bonuses based on spirit type.
-Racial superpower lets you assume your true form.

- You have 12 points to distribute between your 4 stats. You cannot have more than 10 points in one stat.
Vitality: Increases HP.
Strength: Increases melee damage and weight capacity, used for weapons and armor.
Dexterity: Increases ranged damage and reaction speed. Also increases weight capacity somewhat.
Energy: Increases MP/PP and magic/plasma device potency.
Your stats determine your fighting style. If Strength is your highest stat, you're best with melee weapons, if Dexterity is your highest, it's ranged weapons, and if Energy is your highest, it's spells (or plasma devices).

- Characters start with 8 skill slots and gain another every level. Skill slots can hold special attacks and moves (such as spells or physical skills), passive abilities, or be used to upgrade existing skills.
For those unfamiliar with the available skills, I'll be giving out the starter ones (of which there are 6), unless you have some idea of what you want (Protip: Anything can be a skill. If you request it, it can be done, if it's not too overpowered).
HOWEVER there are some things you MUST choose:
If you can use magic (i.e. not a Penguin or Construct):
Pick one of the eight schools of magic (Your MP is split between the schools you know, so at the moment it's a good idea to go with just one). Each school has its own strengths:
Fire: Bonus damage & burning effects
Ice: Freezing effects & healing with water
Electric: Good for speed and hitting multiple targets
Kinetic: Sound-based effects and knockback
Bio: Healing/Poison/Disease/Acid/Plants
Mental: Bends time, space, and people's heads
Light: Good healing and strengthening spells
Shadow: Curses and undead powers/bonuses
If you are a Construct:
You start with a Plasma Device (Two, if Energy is your dominant stat), which lets you use programs which work in the same way as spells.
If you are Food:
What food are you? You'll get a bonus based on this.
If you are a Demon:
All Demons are classified as some sort of spirit (Spirit of Rage, Spirit of Ice, Spirit of Ennui, etc). This determines your racial abilities (Rage = free enrage move, Ice = Ice spells powered up, etc) and your true form (Rage = giant angry eyes or something I dunno you can pick this).

- Skills are confusing. Here are some examples of fighting styles you can try, which would determine the skills you start with. This part is optional if you have your own idea of what skills you want.
Pro: Balanced skills
Melee Styles:
Berserker: Total offense
Guardian: Total defense
Brawler: Balanced offense/defense
Weapon Master: Speed and weapon skills
Assassin: Speed and evasion
Mage Knight: Magic weapon strikes
Combat Medic: Support skills
Ranged Styles:
Sniper: Long range
Duelist: Short range survival
Hunter: Ranged debuffs
Gunner: Powerful ranged weapons
Scout: Speed and evasion
Mage Marksman: Magic weapon strikes
Survivalist: Support skills
Special Styles (Magic, etc.):
Destroyer: Total offense
Psycho: Melee debuffs/evasion
Trickmaster: Ranged debuffs
Enchanter: Equipment buffs
Healer: Healing and support
Immortal: Healing and defense
Elementalist: Focus on one subschool
Ace: A variety of spells
Manipulator: Total debuffs
