Nintendo's Press Conference of the Damned

After Microsoft's, I'm slightly more hopeful about it going well.

As long as they don't announce anything retarded (wii music 2 is a good example) I think it'll be fine.

But I'll be fine with it if there's enough good stuff to make up for it.

Well so far it doesnt seem that bad.

Kid Icarus looked kinda badass. Other M looked even moreso.

The 3DS has motion capabilities apparently... interesting.

I was dissapoint that they did not announce a new version of wii though.

Well...that was surprisingly good.

I'll summarize it in bit for those who missed it, but it was basically a bucket of game footage/announcements followed by a pro 3DS reveal.

yeah the Nintendo Conference was great, best part is that most of the games announces will be out within a year or so. For the most part unless Sony makes a shocker the 3DS looks like it'll be most interesting product unveiled at E3

sumary:

-They open with the new Zelda. What
"Skyward Sword". Cross between Wind Waker and Twilight Princess' art styles.
Miyamoto teleports in to help the presenter not suck at the game.
Some technical difficulties, which are blamed on cell phones.
Enemies are vulnerable to specific directional swings of the sword. Could be bad if the controls aren't accurate, but otherwise a welcome addition to the combat.
Also: Chargeable sword beams, an arm-mounted remote-controlled beetle cannon, and a whip. Because why not.
Comes out next year.

New Kirby game for Wii, with a freaky art style remeniscent of Yoshi's Story.
Kirby is made of a string, hence the name, and grabs people by throwing yarn at them...?
But the rest is straight Kirby platforming. At one point he becomes a giant robot.
Looks like co-op, too. Comes out this fall.

-Dragon Quest IX for DS. July 11.
4-player co-op

-Metroid: Other M trailer.
Comes out on the last day of August.

-"Donkey Kong Country Returns".
Sidescrolling. Bananas. Diddy Kong. Minecarts. Barrel cannons. Etc.
JUNGLE JAPES THEME YEEEAAAHHH
Comes out this holiday season.

-Nintendo 3DS.
A DS with a widescreen up top. Capable of producing 3D effects without glasses or nothing.
Can take 3D photos and play 3D movies.
Has an analog stick and motion sensing capabilities.

-"Project Sora" that SAKURAI was working on turns out to be about making games for the 3DS.
The game he's made to sell the system is KID ICARUS UPRISING.
Pit uses his character model and voice from Brawl. There's voice acting.
BARK LIKE A DOG

-Other games in development for the 3DS include...NINTENDOGS
WITH CATS!
Oh and also more than 20 third party companies, with games including Resident Evil, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, Assassin's Creed, Ninja Gaiden, Metal Gear Solid, Street Fighter IV, three Shin Megami Tensei games...
And apparently Nintendo's making Star Fox and Paper Mario games for it as well!!

I really liked Nintendo's conference. It was more amusing at the very least.

Metroid is awesome looking, Zelda as usual I am interested, Donkey Kong not so much, Kid Icarus might end up being appealing to me.

I would be more excited for Golden Sun Dark Dawn if it wasn't already announced.

But it's a chance to see how badass Alex is again, so I'm not complaining.
