Ubisoft's gone off the deep end

Basically, the article says that they're making games that can be only played at certain places they build. So, lets say they make assassin's creed 3. They're new thing will force players to buy the game, drive to one of these locations, purchase an hour license to play the game, then drive home.

They're goal seems to be to prevent hackers from getting the game for free. And this'll probably work for a while. But the amount of money it will cost them, combined with incredible decrease of sales cause probably one 1% of Ubisoft's target consumers would be even willing to do this kind of thing, means they'll loose a shit-ton of money.

I mean....how badly can you fail?

Also, it's worth noting, that at the end of the article, it reports that Ubisoft's stock dropped a lot.

It's also worth noting that they're in France. So their stupidity could be partially caused by that.

But not all blame. Bad as the French are, they're not THAT retarded. And this is coming from an Englishmen, making the French my natural enemy. THAT'S how stupid Ubisoft is.

Well, not if I had to go somewhere and pay for it. But if it was just the cavity search the one time, then I'd at least consider it.

Of course they are. It'll never work out for them. They are forgetting the biggest rule that all gamers are lazy. So no one will go through all that to play any game. Let alone pay for it.
