Re: Halo Reach
No. I will never LIKE this game. I may get BETTER at it. But I refuse to accept that I will ever LIKE it. I've had this problem with every Halo game. They're just a terrible series of games, and I will never LIKE it.
I will admit, I enjoyed last night, BECAUSE I hated it so much. It was fun to just have something just plain BAD to get really pissed off at. Plus it's more fun with people I enjoy being around.
However, I'd have more fun if we were in a torture chamber being whipped while making jokes.

Re: Halo Reach
lyle, fact o the matter is, you're just bad at it. It's hard to like something when you're bad at it. Halo requires some skill, and you just don't understand that the multiplayer IS fair. There are just people on there that have played it since the first one. Which gives them an edge.

Re: Halo Reach
Okay. Now I'm worried.
I just beat the game, and Bungie left a little: 'A dedication to all our fans, thanks for playing with us for the past decade...' ETC ETC ETC. Which didn't really apply to me, cause I hate the Halo series personally, but I could understand them wanting to do that, since it's the last Halo game to be done by Bungie.
But here's what worries me. They said: "We hope you continue following us in our quest for world domination."
I assumed that that was supposed to be a joke, but it's a little unnerving. Bungie has spent the last decade pretty much training over 700,000 people in various combat situations, and the fact that they have 700,000 fans, JUST in America.
And that would have been enough to unnerve me. But then at the very end, after the credits finished, they had you play a last little mini level. Your goal was simply: 'Survive'. Obviously, being that the only Spartan alive is Master Cheif in Halo one, I knew it was a 'supposed to lose' fight. So I just ran around, killing random enemies.
Then when I died, they had a cutscene where my character courageously fought off Elite after Elite, until finally overwhelmed, and stabbed by 3 elites.
Then they said: 'It's okay that you died! Because you gave your life for our GLORIOUS CAUSE!!!'
....What's exactly Bungie's goal here? Can I join the Bioware army instead please?

I don't care much about the story on the game, I just read the books since its more interesting
Re: Halo Reach
Were the books based off the game? Or the game based off the books?

The books for the most part were based off the games, some of the books (such as Contact Harvest, and The Cole Protocol) are based on events that were talked about in the games but never really told. And Ghost of Oynx is entirely original.

If your just talking about release history, than yes the games came before the books.

Mainly science fiction writers, though the writer for Contact Harvest was the lead writer for all the Halo games before Reach.

Re: Halo Reach
Alright.
Out of respect for the information, I'll resist the urge to call the people who wrote the books SUPER nerds. Though, calling a science fiction writer a 'nerd' is rather redundant.

Re: Halo Reach
So apparently there is an avatar award for Reach requiring you to beat Legendary without dying, I loled very much at this.
