Tragic earthquake strikes Japan. Game developers lend a great helping hand
http://kotaku.com/#!5780916/earthquake-crisis-brings-out-the-best-in-japans-gaming-greats
Normally I wouldn't point out the whole video game developers part since tons of people help others in these times, but it almost seems as if they took the lead from CyberConnect's (responsible for Naruto Ultimate Ninja series) Hiroshi Matsuyama, and other game developers decided to also do all they can to help. Its pretty touching and kind of makes me feel more at ease about the situation, though it is still devastating. An 8.8 earthquake FOLLOWED by a tsunami? What the fuck.
...though now im worried. Because wist is living in japan till may D: !

Yeah i stayed up most of the night watching the news, its really crazy over there, plus other places are supposed to be getting hit as well
Re: Tragic earthquake strikes Japan. Game developers lend a great helping hand
I have been trying to get in contact with friends of mine over there, I still have a couple that are up in the air.
Re: Tragic earthquake strikes Japan. Game developers lend a great helping hand
They say it's one of the worst earthquakes to hit Japan in a long time, if not the strongest.
I'd love to have a japanese friend, but I'm a little glad I don't right now...
Well thats not true. I had one a long time ago and then we just stopped communicating. His last name was Kubo so when I first heard of bleach I researched as much as I could (off topic) and it was not his father.
Anyway... the images I've seen of the damage are bad. Really bad.

Thankfully, Wist is completely unaffected by the disasters (I talked to him a while ago).
But it's nice to hear that game developers are being cool and helping out.

Actually the earthquake itself isn't the worst part. I mean, obviously it's a huge one, but Japan has preparations for that sort of thing.
The Tsunami is what really fucked them over though, and it really sucks.
Of course, NOW they're worried about all the nuclear powerplants. I think two of them lost their cooling system, so they may have some issues there.
If anyone on the forum can find a donation site, post the link here so we can get some donations going. (At least on my end anyway.)
Still, my heart goes out to all the people that have family out there. And if at all possible guys, buy some games from the Japanese developers. Japan's gonna take quite an economic loss from this with just travel trade alone, so we gotta put in our share.
I'm tempted to get Pokemon Black as well, just for those reasons. ((And to give a good reason to play as a girl. << >>))
Also, as a side note, in the back of my mind, I was thinking: "God I hope this doesn't delay the release of Catherine and Graces."
=(
Again, let's try and find a donation site.
Edit: Okay, I found a link to a site to donate:
http://american.redcross.org/site/PageServer?pagename=ntld_main&s_src=RSG000000000&s_subsrc=RCO_BigRedButton
There are options to where you can donate too outside of just Japan if you feel like donating somewhere else, but I just selected Japan.

Re: Tragic earthquake strikes Japan. Game developers lend a great helping hand
An interesting fact that came in recently the earthquake moved Japan 8 feet towards the east.
Re: Tragic earthquake strikes Japan. Game developers lend a great helping hand
Damn sad thing that happened in Japan (I know this is a late response but still)
What has me worried is the potential nuclear meltdown from a Nuclear power plant that not only has lost power to it's cooling system but is now leaking radiation.

Hell some religious group said that the world would end this Saturday, I might start to believe them now.
