Terraria (Minecraft: The JRPG)

This game came out today on Steam for $10. It's pretty cool.
I only just heard about it, but I'm a sucker for Minecraft-like things, so I got it to celebrate school getting out.

It's a 2D sprite-based sidescrolling thingy with loads of things to craft and build. One big difference between this and Minecraft is that when you've played long enough, you can have a maxed-out health bar and MP bar along with a jetpack and a gun that fires stars.
There's a lot of fighting.

I picked up the game today and learned how to craft things... and it took me a half hour to realize how. I'm liking it so far and look forward to being able to DO things in it.

don't worry, it took me quite some time before I realized how to build most things and get a set up in the actual minecraft

I hope the Steam servers get set up soon so I can do multiplayer more easily.

don't worry, once multiplayer starts up me and cat can breeze through this thing for you

Right.

First of all, talk to that guide whenever possible. He tells you some weird stuff, but it can be pretty helpful.

Secondly...you can prevent those punks from spawning by replacing the walls (the backround textures) with something that isn't dirt or air.
Use a hammer to break down dirt walls.

Thirdly, mushrooms! Eat them! They're crunchy.
Also, you can use a furnace to turn sand to glass, then a workbench to turn glass to bottles, then put a bottle on a table to make an alchemy station, then combine mushrooms with gel and a bottle to make healing potions. Yeah. Those are nice.

Lastly, your priority should be to dig down to find metal, which you can make into weapons and armor, and if you're really lucky, life crystal thingies. Break those hearts with a hammer and eat what comes out. +20 max HP.

Hey, I figured out how to run a server of this. I got the multiplayer to work and everything.

If I'm on at the same time as anyone else, you could try to join. When I have the server running, it's at IP address 5.247.124.140. Ask me if you want the password.

Terraria is currently 25% off for the steam summer sale. Im betting it'll be less one day.

Highly recommend it, got alot of hours out of it so far and dont intend on stopping playing anytime soon. Always something to do.

I don't need a copy, but I may as well try the game out again to check it out. It's been a while.
