Well, they give you a lot of units with issues like Sanaki, Ena, Kurth, etc etc etc and they give you a lot of uber units too: Caineghis, Naesala, Tibarn, Renning, Stefan, Volke, etc etc.

The difference, and this is the problem, is that most of the crappy units are forced. While the only good unit that is forced, is Ike.

If they allowed you to take whom you WANTED to take, like you know, what FE games are SUPPOSED to do, then having crappy units at the end is no problem. However, they force you to take at least 4 (Arguably 5 if you count Micaiah) crappy units, but if you want to take an uber unit, that goes against units you have to pick yourself. Of which you only have 10.

And I understand that Ena, Kurth, and Sanaki are important for plot, but Sothe doesn't have ANY lines except for the scene with the parchment thing. And he has just as many lines as Naesala does if he shows up. Why not just boot Sothe out of the dialogue, replace him with Ike, and then you can pick your very own extra unit.

I can GUARENTEE 95% of the people would take Volke over Sothe, if Sothe was not forced. I GUARENTEE. And if I am wrong about it, then I will stirp all my clothes off and run around in a blizzard for an hour.

I don't mind using units like Pelleas, Sanaki and all other units who are underleveled because I love challenges. The harder it is to take care of a unit, the prouder of them I am when/if they grow into an excellent unit. Even if many tantrums and throwing of Wiimotes are included in the process. They still require plenty of babying at times (I'm lookin' at you, Sanaki) but I'm so used to looking after those weaker units that I don't think I've ever really realized that it would probably be less stressful otherwise. :D

Besides, there's so many incredibly useful and overpowered units that I guess it's only fair that they throw a few difficulties our way. Keeps things interesting, in my opinion.

And on the matter of Sothe, I agree that IS made a bad call on making him pretty weak for a main character. I don't think I've liked using him in any part he's available. EXP hog in part one, beginning to be overshadowed by others in Part 3, only tolerable in Part 4. I don't mind too much on using him though, because as I mentioned before I don't really mind being forced to use weaker units. XD

This is my third attempt at posting here. Each of the last two times my internet gave out. They were both well thought out posts, and I remained articulate and explained my feelings rationally.

Now here's what I feel like saying:

Slothe Sucks.

Every other unit is useable at the very least. Slothe forces you to use him, even though he's no better than a fucking monkey.

Ouch! Stuff like that happens to me alllll the time. I remember getting so frustrated once when my essay-long post wasn't sent and I ended up losing all of it. Since then, especially because of the unstable state my computer's in, I make a habbit of copying or saving any long posts I write every so often just in case anything crashes. XD

But you got your point across about Sothe. I still like him as a character, though. :D

Eh. Even as a character I don't really like him. He doesn't really have much of a place in it. And he kept on trying to force himself into it.

In fact, his purpose in the story tied directly to his usefulness as a character:

Part 1: Often involved, taking spotlight from other cooler units.
Part 3: Role started to dwindle, showed how much of a wimp he was.
Part 4: Before dissappearing into uselessness he had one last little quif of attempted spotlight before suffering to the memories of the forgetfull.

Lol. You like to get real technical about characters and stats and such. I don't like doing that, it doesn't make it much fun. I just use who I like and that's it. Even if they are "bad units". By all means, let them be, it adds to the challenge.

I have to admit, I'm usually pretty much the exact same way. XD

Supports were another way I'd decide what characters I'd bring in a playthrough, but Radiant Dawn destroyed the support system so I can't use it in this case. D:

Lol. Well, yeah. But usually my favorite units are the ones that have good stats. Those who don't have good stats, tend to try my patience. As Slothe has inevitably done.

I would just like to add that EXP hogging is actually a bunch of lies, but I'd rather not get into that. Am I the only one that finds it out that Tibarn dropped the whole "I KILL YOU LATER NAESALA" thing without saying a word?

Nah. I noticed that too. I figure that once he found out about the blood pact, and how everything went down the way it did that he wound up forgiving Naesala.

Or maybe he did try, but Naesala kicked his ass and they decided not to ever mention it again.

Seriously they could of expanded on ALOT of the supports, Zihark is one of those major letdowns, considering he actually HAD some character development.
