"You do it to yourself though...Why?" Dahni asked. "I mean...the three of us, we all came to help you out...Doesn't that show we care?"

"..." Maeko stayed quiet and looked at her fishing rod. "See? With Toshiyuki..it was exactly why I don't get close to people. his friendly facade..I fell for it. It could've been worse..like with your case."
She turned to the group, "How do I know it's not all some fake friendly demeanor? Like with Toshiyuki? Theres no telling, so I just avoid getting too close to people, or letting them get close to me."

"You don't," said Karin bluntly, "but if you don't try to trust people then you'll never make any lasting friends. You may say you're fine alone, but no one can truly live alone. People need eachother, and while some people will try to take advantage of that need, true friends will never let that happen."

"Until next time." Shinta said before turning to Yomiko, "Well, shall we get going?"

"Whenever you're ready Steve. I got the TV set up at my place and I'll be heading home after a few short errands. I'll See ya guys, I gotta go fill out the release forms for the car accident."

Stefan boarded the bus and watched them as it drove away. "....Well, it's been a while since I've seen them without someone fighting."

"Maeko...This Toshiyuki guy...he sounds like a creep. Good or evil, whatever. He's certainly not a good friend...WE are here for you...Maybe we're not best friends...but if you let us in...we could prove to you, we're worth it, okay?" Dahni rubbed her back, despite the protest Maeko gave.

"Quit touching me!" Maeko said, shrugging Dahni's hand off again. "How do you know if they really are true friends? That's it's not just same act to betray them later on?" Maeko asked, turning to the two of them, a stern look on her face.

"That's the thing. You never know, and you never will until you try. I'm not gonna lie, I viewed you as a complete bitch when we first met honestly, but sometimes the best of friends meet starting off on the wrong foot." He said. "Shinta couldn't stand my existence for a full year actually. Heh. I can see why too. I'm loud, obnoxious, abraisive and annoying but hey who cares? Wasn't that what our shadows taught us? To ACCEPT not only OUR imperfections, but the ones of others too?"

"...." Maeko stood quietly, looking at Masuyo. She then turned to her fishing rod. "Right..our shadows.." She sighed. Maeko held up her fishing rod and stared at it. "I guess, I was looking at your situation the wrong way, I need to learn from it, not avoid it altogether. Maybe if I had more friends, they could help me avoid what happened to you, Right?" She mumbled, slightly smiling at her fishing rod.

"But you do have friends," said Karin placing a hand on Maeko's shoulder, "you have us, if you'll let us."

"....Yeah, I guess I do. " Maeko sighed, turning to Karin, her smile fading.

"Hey people with friends have more incentive to fight harder. To ensure everyone is safe. Also its scientificly proven that smiling makes you more fit and active!" Masuyo said waving a finger.

"Sure." Yomiko said to Shinta as she walked alongside him.

"Well shall we be going?" Nene asked Tsubasa.

"........go to onii-chan. I need to talk to Shinta-san." Tsubasa said as she sped off

"...Hm, I'll keep that in mind." Maeko said, slightly smirking at Masuyo. "I just don't want to end up like he did.." Maeko mumbled turing to her fishing rod.

"Don't think anyone wants to." Masuyo said. "Well its time! You need a phone." He said to Maeko

"Yeah. And about that sleepover." Dahni laughed. "Should we get snacks and stuff?"

"Already on it!" Nene shouted appearing behind the group.

"You already got some? Or are you on your way to get some?" Dahni asked.

"Gonna go get some." She said to Dhani

"Gyah!" shrieked Karin, "When did you get here?"

"Just now obviously." Nene said tilting her head.

"Ahhhh~ nothing like screaming women." Masuyo said with a sick smile

"Want me to make you scream?" Karin asked before blushing and stammering, "W-wait, that came out wrong! Lemme try that again."

"I date Yomiko. Something like that sounds erotic to someone like me." Masuyo said grinning at Karin

"I figured it would." muttered Karin still red in the face.

"I wasn't talking about Stefan.." Maeko mumbled under her breathe. "And You..already gave me a phone. But, I...don't know how to use it.." Maeko mumbled, pulling her hat down over her eyes.

"Hey, Nene, mind if I come with you?" Dahni asked, looking cheerful and hopeful.

"Sure." Nene said giving a thumbs up.

"So what do you gather from all of this?" Yomiko asked Shinta.
