"What's that supposed to mean?" said Karin taking a defensive stance, "You know something, don't you?"

"Maybe we should get you some games for math and other subjects too. Then you wouldn't need tutoring."

"..." Maeko reached into the fridge and handed Yomiko the butter. "You..grease a pan with butter." Maeko said gutting and cutting the fish with Nene.

"Eh. Well if you aren't hostile I have no problem with you then. enjoy your dinner then." Tsubasa said waving to Toshiyuki. "Tell Stefan we said hi please."

"Well I cant deny that this is the best Tofu in town......and he DOES have to eat." Misaki said outloud to herself.


"Oh sorrrrrrrrrry butter maiden. I use canola oil to grease my pans." Yomiko said in a sarcastic, yet friendly tone as she smiled at Maeko and laughed. "But butter will do for today!" she said as she put it on the pan. "Where is the Misooooooooooooooo"


"Fuck you." Masuyo said in English.

"Oh i've heard that one before!" Rise said. "Yay im getting the hang of this!"

"No thats not a good thing Rise-chi. You shouldn't be saying that." Masuyo said. "Anyways whats the current page you're on."

"This one. Page 163." she said pointing to a paragraph.

"Try reading it."

"Uh......." Rise took a deep breath. "The.....fa....fa...family of two......ribbed in the ha....hause down the heel......."

"Oh my god." Masuyo said digging his fingers into his leg to keep himself from exploding.

"Its bad huh." Rise said.

"It was........okay." IT WAS FUCKING ADORABLE he said. "What it really said is "The family of two lived in the house down the hill."" he shot Kentaro an angry glare.

"All I know for sure is that we live our lives knowing that one day they come to an end. Unfortunately some of us leave sooner than others." He looked to Misaki. "I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your brother."

"...Does everything this guy says sound that condescending?" Dahni whispered. "Smug prick.."

"Im not." Misaki said. "I wanted that scumbag killed."

"Ha". Maeko laughed with Yomiko. "Alright Nene! Into the frying pan!" Maeko said as she put her cut up pieces of fish into the pan.

"Still, he was a very unique individual. The world won't be the same without him." He wore his smile, and picked out a piece of his tofu. "Mmm. Delicious. It's been so long I've forgotten." This will likely accelerate things. If Misaki is still connected to the nurse, she'll hear about this. I'm already exposed.

"Unique? Yeah, like Mikako. They were both sick people. One down, and the other's clock is ticking." she angrily said.

"Misaki-san........" Tsubasa said remembering Ryuusaki.

"You of all people should be happy that he's dead!" Misaki shouted.

"No.........I'd rather if people didn't die." Tsubasa said. "Its better if they have to live with their crimes and pay for it for the rest of their lives." she said in a dark yet sad tone. "Unfortunately I wasn't there to convince Onii-chan and Kentaro-kun that before they went off on their own and destroyed him."


"Puttin em in the pan!" Nene said.

"OH GOD! I FOUND SOME LEFTOVER MISO!" Yomiko shouted. "Its auntie's, but we can replace it with the fresh new Miso when the others get back!" she excitedly said as she put it in the pan with the fish

Yo why's he givin me the stink-eye? Forget it. while theyre distracted I'll just... Kentaro inches towards the exit.

"...Regardless, I bid you all a good day." He bowed. "I'm sure we'll see each other all again soon." He turned and left the building.

"...Creep-o." Dahni said after he was gone.

"That's well and good, but for some people death is the only way to make them pay." said Karin in a grim, hostile tone.

"An interesting philosophy, both of you." said Shinta entering the shop, "Hey."

"Oh good! Out walks the beast, and in walks the prince." Dahni laughed upon Shinta's arrival. "What brings you here?"

"Where you going genius kid?" Kanji said standing infront of the door. "Yer helpin us. Siddown." he said as he pointed to a cusion at the table.

"This is kinda funny. Normally you'd be jumping off the walls yelling about how you cant believe you're in the same room as me." Rise said as she continued to write.

"Yeah........I guess im getting over it." he said as Rise looked sad. "No! NO! I don't mean im not your fan anymore! I meant-"

"You have a real love in your life now, not a feverish fantasy." Rise said smiling. "Thats good for you isn't it?"

"Y-yeah.....but"

"But what? Are you saying you'd rather have me over her?" she asked with a serious tone.

"Never!" Masuyo shot back near instantly. "Uh....shit. You know what I mean. I love Yomi damn it. I love you too but I love Yomi........like a Yomi?"

"Hahahah! You're so lame!" Rise said laughing. "But thats what makes you kind of fun to be around from time to time. We should all hang out more often. Everyone is getting busy with their own things recently, its gotten boring with just me and Kanji."

"Well im sorry that im smart enough to not be your shopping slave." Kanji shot back at Rise.

"What kind of security are you? You're supposed to do everything i say!" Rise complained.

"Hah. I guess all idols are kinda whiny and spoiled in a way." Masuyo said laughing. He sensed the lifeforce next to him change from "Angel" to "Death". "Woah wait I didn't mean-



"Hm. Should we call the guys home for the food?" Tsubasa asked.

CRASH.

Masuyo fell onto the mailbox outside.

"............please say this is normal." Misaki said. "Is he dead?"

Maeko placed the sliced pieces of fish in the frying pan and added some random spices to it. "Alright, now we just wait."

"...Pretty much that." joked Shinta pointing to Masuyo's limp body, "But in all seriousness I'm here to pick up some tofu for Miss Kurokawa."

"The old lady sent you again?" asked Karin with a raised eyebrow, "she's really been workin' you lately, huh?"

You have no idea. "Well she was gonna call you, but I volunteered. Wouldn't wanna spoil your girls night out, after all." explained Shinta.

"Oh...thanks." said Karin sheepishly.

"The pain......" Masuyo mumbled as he limped back into the building.

"Where'd you come from?" Misaki asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Rise's bedroom-"

"AAAAAAHHHHH!!!! I cant believe you Onii-chan!" Tsubasa shouted as she began to swing at him.

"Oh god no not the demon fist-GUWOOAGH" Masuyo grunted as he was punched out of the house and back into the mailbox. "Why meeeeeeee" he cried.



"August 30th. So Maeko......whats your family like? If you don't mind me asking. I'd like to get to know you better honestly. Im not fit for Dahni's type. Cant handle the "lets all get along and be happy as one big group!" types y'know? I don't mind groups but I like solitude too haha." Yomiko said as they waited for the fish to cook.

"Yes yes! I'd like to hear too! Oh but I asked you earlier....." Nene said excited until she realized what she was asking for

Maeko stared down at the fish as it cooked. "So...Hm." Maeko mumbled, trying to make small talk. "Wait...What's today's date? I've been losing track of the days recently..." Maeko asked as she looked up from the fish.

Oh..it's almost that date... Maeko sighed and hung her head at hearing the date. "Yeah, I'm not too much for those types either. Nothign against her. But making friends isn't all that easy for everyone." Maeko explained in a depressed tone. "Well..I guess I gotta open up at one point..May as well be now."

Kentaro sees his chance. He jumps out the window and tumbles on the sidewalk. "FREEEDOM!"

"Well. I can always just use the chip I put in his skin I suppose." Rise said with a bored look on her face.

"Did you really just BS all of that just cause you were bored?" Kanji asked her.

"Yeah. Pretty sad huh?"

"Nobody said it was sad. Everyone is busy, of course it'd get lonely. You aren't the only one." Kanji said. "But.......we all gotta move on at some point. Wont be too long till the old bat kicks it and I gotta run the textiles all on my own."

"With your loving wife of course!" Rise said smiling.

"W-wife!?" Kanji asked red in the face. "A-are you for real?"

"I don't mean ME. I mean im sure you're gonna find someone, ladies are all over men who can sew and such nowdays!" Rise said winking.

"And what about you?" Kanji asked.

" *sigh* I just cant get over the loneliness."

"Nobody said the only friends you're entitled to are the Investigation Squad you know." Kanji said with an irritated look. "Seems to me you get along with those two idiots. Why not tag along with them from time to time?" he suggested.

"And you Kanji?" Rise asked placing her chin in her hand as she propped her head up with her elbow on the desk.

"Of course i'd tag along. Keeping you safe from the sick fans is my job after all. I told senpai that i'd keep you safe, and when he comes back he's coming back to an untouched Rise." Kanji said in a manly demeanor as he hit his chest with his fist. "Then again that one guy is so nuts he may go ham on anyone that comes within ten meters of you."

"Hahah. You're right about that. He's one of the craziest fans I've seen, and yet hes one of the safer ones. That..........makes no sense. How is that even possible? Then again I have run into some real freaks."

"Like the dude who came up to you trying to impersonate you shouting "We're one and the same! Let us cleanse our bodies together in the shower!!!"?" Kanji said.

"Uuurrgggh. Being an Idol can really suck. it really can. But........its still nice knowing that I can influence some people out there. It makes it worth putting up with the nutcases." Rise said smiling as she walked up to Kanji. "And you. You have to do a better job next time. I heard from those guys a hobo beat you up and tied you in a closet."

"I......I had a cold that day. My bad." Kanji said trying to make an excuse.



"If you've been wronged, it can be really hard to open up." Yomiko said. "I was pretty distant and cold to Masuyo when he tried to greet me when I was outside reading actually.....thanks to my dad."

"I would have never guessed seeing how attached to the hip you two are." Nene said laughing.

"Wha? WE ARE NOT ATTACHED TO THE HIP! SHUT UP NENE!"

"Heh...no, I wasn't the one wronged. My grandfather was..." Maeko sighed.

"Your grandfather? You spoke of him like he was a great man....." Nene said.

"...........did someone take advantage of his kindness or something?" Yomiko asked concerned.

"....He was. And yes. He was..." Maeko replied, her voice growing more monotone and she pulled her hat down over her eyes.

"Thats terrible........" Yomiko said looking down. "We're here for you if you don't mind talking about it, but I wont force you. You can wait till you're ready.

"Yeah! We're all buddies here! We should be making each other feel better! Not feeling terrible!" Nene said.

"...What good does it do for you two to know?" Maeko gripped her fists as her voice cracked. "...He was killed alright!? He was killed by his supposed best friend! I watched the whole thing! No one else in my family cared about anything that didn't benefit themselves! My father even admitted to me 'being a mistake'. He was everything to me, alright!?" Maeko exclaimed, breaking down. She stared at the floor, tightening her fists.
