Ok depending on what you guys read this topic could go different ways but I started this topic to discuss some of the other good Shounen series. Its fun to rant about Naruto and Bleach, but does anyone here follow Fairy Tail, Air Gear, One Piece, or Psyren? Feel free to suggest other stuff too and it'll probably narrow down by popularity.

I follow Fairy Tail. It's pretty good; I like the characters, each of them have a lot of personality and the whole manga is unique, refreshing and sometimes quite eccentric. It's a nice read.

Anyway, I have no idea what you mean by "narrow down by popularity," but the other shounen series I follow are:

Vinland Saga, which is about a viking boy doing stuff (nothing fantasy in it, but it's pretty amazing all the same)
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, which is about people doing awesome things and stuff gets intense (I have yet to catch up with the latest part, Steel Ball Run, but I'm close)
Souten no Ken, prequel to Hokuto no Ken. It's not as good, but it's still entertaining (on hold for now, I don't feel like reading it)

Those are the only ongoing stuff I'm following right now. I'm also following Kinnikuman and Saint Seiya, but they've already been completed, just not translated.

skjdfsiuhisdufhgidurht

As for Fairy Tail, I'm going to be going full force here with no spoiler warning, so be careful.

Sugarboy is the greatest name ever, and he has the greatest chin ever and the greatest pompadour ever. His attitude isn't so bad either.

I like One Piece myself, it's a bit different from the other "Big 3" shounen manga in art and style, and the fights are generally a lot more creative then "My kung-fu, better then your kung-fu"

Also unlike Naruto or Bleach which started out strong and got weaker as they went, One Piece has thus far only been getting better and better in my opinion. (Although I'm only at about episode 150 so things could change.)

An Older Shounen I enjoy is Jojo's Bizarre Adventure although I'm in the middle of part 4 at the moment with 3 more to go.

Keep on reading part 4 because Yoshikage Kira is an amazing villain.

Hell, all the villains have been amazing so far.

I agree with you about Sugarboy's hair, its too bad he's an opponent. I hope they befriend all those guys and just kick the kings ass. Two Erzas in Fairy Tail would be pretty sweet, but too good to last.

Yeah One Piece is by far the best of the big 3 so keep reading. Sometimes it may not be incredibly awesome but it never actually drops in quality. It stayed suprisingly fresh over so many chapters and if the author does things right theres a minimum of 3 major developments left (the fruit, the government, the actual one piece).

When I said "popularity", I meant since Naruto, Bleach, Soul Eater, etc. have their own threads, something mentioned here could get their own topic.

Doubt that Edolas Erza would join them, but Sugarboy, Pantherlily and that other guy (not the old man) seem like genuinely good people, so they may join. And God, I hope at least Sugarboy and Pantherlily join. New S rank members? Hell yeah.

Pantherlily is also awesome btw. Awesome name, etc.

Coco is so cute as well. The new chapter has a decent helping of Lucy fanservice. And Natsu's face when he says "I have an idea" is hilariously evil.
Anyway I wanna run a threory by ya -
The dragons have somehow fused with the slayers, which is why they count as old in the that arc with the Thunder guy whose name escapes me atm, and its why Natsu gets more Beastly each time he fights.

Dragons fused with the slayers? You mean like, Igneel fused with Natsu, and all that?

I think that's impossible since we saw Igneel and Grandine in one of the chapters. Unless you mean something else.

Christ, can you even keep up reading all of that? I had like, six manga and I still had trouble trying to read all of them.

Also, I dunno if I'd actually use "adorable" to describe Erza...

I Love Erza. She should NOT pair with Gerard. Hes not cool enough.
That list isn't too long. If ur caught up with most of it its totally doable. When I was in school and had access to a computer I read like 20-30 chapters any week i didn't have a major project. My list is like half that size since, its only been 3 years since I started reading scans, and I don't have my own computer. The first 2 years were spent catching up on the ridiculously long Jump series.
Anyway I noticed you read Air Gear. I mightve missed some cause of onemanga's ecchi sweep. Where can I find scans with enough quality to read on my DSi? The last chap I remember was with that weird mirror masochist guy.

Yeah I agree. Gerard is kind of really lame.

But anyway, thoughts on new chapter? Igneel somehow showed up through Natsu (almost said Masu by accident). Maybe Dragon Slayer can also summon dragons, or just create the image of a dragon when the user uses enough power.

Also, Pantherlily is a girl? Never expected that.

Now that I think about it, it might be just an image like all the characters of Air Gear. I always love Fairy Tail chapters, only thing is I wanna see Igneel and Pantherlily's fight next but I also think they shouldn't keep Erza vs Erza hanging like that. I must've missed it but Pantherlily is a girl? O_o
Oh and I don't think it was Multiquote I pressed, cause thats there too. I doesn't appear over my posts and I don't think I've seen it in other threads.

I can't think of anyone else other than Pantherlily. Unless there's another "Lily" person I've missed in previous chapters?

I read it on mangastream so I double checked and it said "He's our ally". I don't know much Japanese but their pronouns are vague, right? Does any one know what version of "I" Pantherlily uses? Otherwise I'm gonna hold off on that one.

Lucy is pro when she wants to be, as depicted again (with lots of fanservice too, though that's to be expected from scenes with Lucy).

Anyway, Sugarboy is still great.

Long live the pomp!
Considering her personality I wasn't suprised that Virgo comes with a whip. Still, that's doujin material right there. Also, as expected Lucy fights the creepy old man with tentacles. Don't get me wrong though, I think Fairy Tail is great(espescially compared to Rave) and theres always room for fan service.

I really thought there would be at least implications of rape in that scene, but Mashima Hiro seems like a better person to do that kind of thing.

I guess that's where all mangaka have to draw the line. Lay the ground work w/ fanservice, but the ecchi thoughts come from the readers themselves. After all the intended demographic is kids and not us older fans. That's what doujins are for.

Shounen covers from kids to late teens, I would think. Anyway, I'm not into this kind of stuff and even if I were...I don't think I'd like tentacle rape.
