Gamefaqs Game of the Decade Poll

Normally, I wouldn't put this here, but today they're having a vote between Tales of Symphonia and Resident Evil 5. I have no delusions that Symphonia will win, even though it deserves the top game of all time, however, at the very least, we have to try to get it past the first round. RE5 was pretty crappy, especially by comparison.

At the very least, Symphonia wins hands down in the story. Symphonia never had an important boss character go: "I JUST HAD AN EXTREME MAKEOVER!" in a voice that would make Iago from Aladdin shriek in agony.

So, unless you're think that RE5 is better, then please go vote for Symphonia. However, if you think RE5 is better, then you should reconsider coming to the forum, because your priorities do not match.

Oh nice, I was gonna post this at 3 am last night but decided nobody reads posts/cares about tales anyways.

Just because I don't know all the tales games doesn't mean I'm not a fan of the series.

the only time I would vote against a Tales game, is if it was Legendia Vs like Golden Sun or something.

what sucks, is that it's not gonna make it past the second round. I doubt that L4D will beat the God of war fags. L4D2 is gonna be the one to stand out. All the God of War fags are gonna tank it over Symphonia.

I mean, Symphonia is the best game ever, so it has a shot, but along the way, the fanboys are gonna kill it. Seeing as it's not doing all that great over RE5, which is bad even by the RE fan standard, it's not gonna make it past God of War.

Most of the votes for RE5 are probably from people who haven't played Symphonia. I bet 80% who's played both will vote Symphonia.

I didn't play Viewtiful Joe. I can't imagine it's a bad game, but I really liked FF10.

And I'm likely not going to buy and beat Viewtiful Joe in the next 2 1/2 hours, so my vote has to go FF10.

If it was some other crappy game I played, like: "F.E.A.R." I would vote for Joe, but I actually liked FF10 a lot. Back when the girly protagonist phase was still in it's larva form.

Also, I think Vesperia stands a fighting chance, but it'll be tough for them. It doesn't help that there's a lot of people pissed at Namco Bandai for the 'Beta' 360 version, but it does help that a lot of people in Japan are stoked on the Ps3 version. IF they can vote on this. I'm not sure.

I'm looking forward to seeing how far Persona can go. Sucks that Symphonia is gonna get killed by God of War. I was too bored with God of War to play past the third level. Symphonia had novel-like quality to it's story. Unlike God of War, which was pretty much:
"The adventures of Angry man and his quest to show as much blood on screen as possible."

Everybody make sure to vote tomorrow before noon. Persona 3 is going up against Civilization 4. And while I'm certain Persona 3 will crush it, let's give it as much support as possible.

My friend said that Civilization 4 WAS actually a pretty big game. He was shocked when he saw P3 had beat it.

There's like 5 Final Fantasy's on the list though.

I still think Persona 3 and 4 have it in them to last till the 3rd round. Probably not going to make it all the way.

I'm gonna put my money on God of War. Or Bioshock. Even though God of War was pretty boring for me. I haven't beaten Bioshock, but it's a good game. I wouldn't call it game of the decade though.

My theory is that Tales of Symphonia is so good, that it transcends the game of the decade. It's only to be played by those who truly understand what quality is. And others should be forgiven for their ignorance.
