Golden Sun

That's about it really save Windwaker and maybe Pokemon.

I dont really care about pokemon either. Unless its against some random shit i REALLY dont care about. I voted for it when it was against...........some other game I cant remember (when it was pokemon G/S/C)

I would vote for Gold/Silver to go all the way. But the others I could care less about unless it's opponent was crappy.

I'm curious to see how Brawl VS Melee turns out. Imma vote Brawl, since I was better at it than Melee, and the gravity wasn't so high. But Melee did have Roy, and it introduced me to FE..

Also, Majora's Mask was one of the worst games I ever played.

I voted Brawl, cuz though it wasn't perfect I still loved it. And I haven't played Fallout.

It shouldn't be any surprise Brawl is this far. It's BRAWL. Fanboys. Melee was pretty good too, but if that won you'd still be saying exactly this. And Majora's Mask was fantastic, you're just petty. You don't like challenges. Lol.

Although I thinking Brawl might win the whole thing instead of a FF game..

You can't take this many games and pick one that's the "best". The games come in so many different varieties, it's comparing apples to oranges.

There is no best one, and trying to claim that one's better than all the others is an insult to them all.

As a nice bonus, everyone just votes for the games they've played and ignores the ones they haven't, making the whole thing biased and inaccurate anyway.

Also I ain't surprised that Brawl is winning, you gotta deal with the Smash Bros Community and that's a pretty damn large one.

It reminds me of a music tournament MTV did online this past year, it's not about the best game, it's about the most obsessive fan base. *btw Coheed and Cambria won the contest in question*

But still, it's a matter of pride. A majority of the people I talk to would disagree profusely if they were told Brawl was game of the decade.

Like I said, it's my favorite 3D zelda game. But lol... each match i can remember it beat the other game by a substantial amount. I wonder if its just because of the ZELDA in the title... cause I always had the impression that OoT was loved by so many and they thought MM was the inferior weird little brother.

MM was... so different than anything else i played or saw. The whole concept of going back in time over and over so you can get everything was new to me. And you had to do it too lol. I dare anyone to speed through all 4 dungeons for the first time in 72 minutes (even 144 with the inverted song helping). The world coming to an end in a set time gave the player a sense of dread and urgency. There's not alot of time to fuck around if you dont' wanna miss those time sensitive events either.

I hated Majora's Mask. It wasn't fun for me at all.

And it's not that I don't like a challenge, I LOVE a GOOD challenge. Masu can testify to how much I loved the Reaper fight in P3 and P3P. However, like Pikmin, I don't like the idea of being pressured to get stuff done in a game. And that's what Majora's mask does. I'm a gamer that wants to explore, loot and have enough time to solve puzzles without having to worry about an arbitrary time limit.

Not to mention Majora's Mask was a game specifically meant to capitalize on the success of Ocarina of Time. It didn't add anything to the Zelda series, it didn't add anything to gaming as a whole, it was just one big marketing ploy.

Hell, Batman Arkham Asylum deserves to be game of the decade over Majora's Mask.

Also, on the other hand, I don't want to vote for Brawl either. It was a fun game for a bit, but it lost a lot of appeal for me after about, 2 months. Not worth game of the decade either.

When I first played through Majora's Mask, I hated the time limit as well, and figured it was one of the worst Zelda games ever.

Playing through it again as an older person on the Virtual Console, I was like "jesus fuck I was a fuckin retard this is the best thing ever"

Compared to a lot of other Zelda games, it felt like a genuinely new experience.
If you want to talk games riding on the success of Ocarina of Time, I'd point my finger of objectifying directly at Twilight Princess. Now THERE was a game that didn't want to bother messing with the same old structure they'd been using since Link to the Past.

Yeah, Majora's Mask used a lot of the graphics from Ocarina of Time. This meant the development team didn't have to spend as much time making new graphics, and could focus on the gameplay elements.

The game focused less on dungeons (there are only four!) and instead on developing the characters and settings of the game. Even the monsters have character attributes in this one!

Without the time limit, they wouldn't have been able to include the bit where you can change the timeline of the world and alter the course of history. This is not a thing you can often do in games.

It's true that you don't have the freedom to explore for as long as you want, which sucks. But it was a necessary sacrifice to create a game that felt like it was actually new, and not Ocarina of Time 2.0. And with the inverted Song of Time, you have more than enough time to do whatever.
AND as you progress, even though you have to do some things over, you gradually get tools that let you cut through old areas much more quickly, until eventually you are THE MASTER OF THE ENTIRE WORLD

That's just why I think the game is pretty good, even though it's timed. But there's nothing wrong with not liking a game, so it doesn't really matter.

I loved Majora's Mask because it wasn't the typical Zelda game: "OH NO GANON TOOK ZELDA, HERE'S THE MASTER SWORD GO GO GO"
It didn't have any of that. THAT'S what it contributed to the Zelda series, Mike. IMO anyway.

The only reason why it did so well was because of the Zelda tag. It's the same for Twilight Princess. Windwaker dealt with more character development. Link actually had a personality in Windwaker. It's the only Zelda game that you can actually feel some sympathy for Gannondorf, rather than see him as a mindless raving pig monster thing.
