Persona 4 RP Story/Dungeon

"So you've betrayed people too then," Karin said gripping her bat tightly,"people who you laughed with, cried with, fought with and fought for...then tell me, why? WHY WOULD YOU BETRAY THEM? WHAT'S SO FUN ABOUT TRAMPLING ON SOMEONE'S HEART LIKE THAT?!"

"...It's not always intentional...." Stefan mumbled and looked away. "..I never told you guys the reason why I ran away, right?"

"Nope." Masuyo said. "We got time."

"...I ran away when I was young....Like, really young. Seven. My parents had been fighting a lot. Money issues. Being seven, and hearing them fight, night after night, I came up with the idea." He turned to face them. "If I ran away, they wouldn't have to worry about spending money on me. So I did. It was actually rather easy, since I was a little kid. People would give me free food and such, I hung out in the library and kept studying and stuff. ...After a few months, I sorta....realized that I couldn't survive on my own. so I went back home." Stefan took a deep breath. "I found out that my dad went to jail. Insurance fraud. He burnt the house down. Mom couldn't deal with the loss of her home, my dad, and me....So she swallowed a bunch of pills. I didn't have any relatives, so they tried to put me in a foster home. But I wasn't going to have any part in that. My punishment for abandoning my home, was that....at least that's how I saw it....Sounds kinda stupid saying it all now..." He adjusted his hat.

"Hm. That sucks. My parents are druggies too." Masuyo calmly said. "What's done is done though. Don't beat yourself up over it."

"My parents aren't druggies. My dad's an arsonist, and my mom was suicidally depressed...." Stefan sighed. "Anyway, this isn't about me. We gotta focus up and save Yomiko." He looked ahead on the boat. "How much farther is this place anyway?"

"We're just about there." Masuyo said pointing at the shore. As he stepped off the boat he turned to stefan and said "Sorry, I should've said "My parents are both fucked up. Least you haven't died." with a downcast tone

"Guys..." Karin scratched her head trying to find the words, "I never would've guessed you guys had it so rough. And I know this isn't helping either, I'm sorry." Kinda makes me feel petty about my problems. At least I kinda deserved to get thrown out. Karin looked around at the battle-scarred terrain and saw nothing, "So where are Yomi and Raiha? I don't see anything." Karin walked around searching for clues and stepping closer and closer to a hidden mine.

"I dunno." Masuyo said looking around. "The boat takes us to where we have to go though." he said walking ahead

"I see," Karin said stepping on the hidden mine, I guess I'll just trust the bo-AHH!" She screamed as the ground below her feet vanished and became a large pitfall. After a brief panic she grabbed hold of a ledge within the hole. "I'm okay. You guys better watch out too." Suddenly she heard a growling sound coming from the bottom of the hole. "Oh...fuck."

"Here. I gotcha. Just calm down." Stefan reached his hand down and started pulling her up. "Whatever is down there, we'll try to avoid it."

Karin nodded, "Yeah, definitely don't wanna know what's down there. Thanks." Once out of the hole she took a deep breath and began carefully following after Masuyo.

"..." Stefan looked down the hole. "...Best not to think about it..." He followed behind the others, keeping a look behind them in case of a rear attack.

"There he is!!!" Masuyo shouted pointing at Shinta

"Yomiko too?" Stefan asked.

"Welcome," Shinta said with a small wave, "Looks like you had no trouble getting here."

"Raiha..." Karin said shakily.

"Shut up. Wheres yomi"

"Not only that, but it's time for a full explanation. Or we'll beat our answers out of you." Stefan gripped his axe.

"My my, how scary," Shinta said mockingly, "Yomiko is inside. I wanted to see the results of my experiment. Sadly I was rather disappointed."

"Raiha," Karin stepped forward, "Masu told me about it, but I wanna hear it from you: That night...when Aniki and the others were taken away...was that your doing? Did you set us up?" Shinta remained silent, causing Karin to lash out "Answer me!"

"...You poor deluded little girl," Shinta said plainly, "You really can't face change can you? You want so badly to believe that I'm being controlled or manipulated, and that I'd never betray you. Let me make this perfectly clear for you: 'At 10 pm there will be a meeting at the harbor. I will ensure that they can take only one entrance. If you can position your units at these points then-'" Shinta blocked another attack by Kain's bat with his knife, "You know you have got to let me finish a sentence once in a while."

"IT WAS YOU!!!" Karin's eyes widened and her irises shrank. Her teeth were clenched tight and her and her entire body trembled. Shinta's grin only grew wider.

"Congratulations. You finally accepted reality."

"Do yo have any idea what you've done? What kind of shit I had to deal with because of you?"

"Honestly I never considered it," Shinta calmly before pushing Karin back, "I'd already written you guys off that night. You were barely an afterthought."

"Raiha...I'M GONNA FUCKING KILL YOU!"

"Such a mouth on you," Shinta shook his head, "I'm afraid even if I tried to explain anything Karin here wouldn't let me. Oh well," Shinta pulled out another identical knife and twirled both before taking a stance, "I guess I'll just have to put you to sleep for a bit."

"You're the one who's going to sleep!" Masuyo said. "But first! Seriously, just what exactly WAS all of this to you!? Was this all nothing!? Putting our lives in each other's hands, the trips, the fights, all of that was NOTHING to you!? Are you telling me I proudly called a lowlife shithead like you my BEST FRIEND!?" Masuyo said trembling.

".......Masuyo........Karin-chan." Yomiko said on the other side of the door.

"Who knows," Shinta answered, "maybe I was using you to escape the tedium of everyday life, maybe I thought of you only as a fun distraction, and maybe I really did...see you as friends." Shinta appeared behind Masuyo and swung one of his knives at his back, "Or maybe I'm spouting nonsense to get you to leave an opening."

"Not so fast!" Stefan swung his axe at Shinta, who dodged, but saved Masuyo's back. "...Calm down. This is exactly what he wants. Be wary of Yomiko too. We don't know what he might have done to her."

"Well now," Shinta said with an amused smile, "this group must have fallen pretty far if you're the level-headed one."

"Shut up!" Karin shouted charging at Shinta, "This is for Aniki and the others!"
"Such a fool," Shinta said before he began to dodge and parry Karin's wild swings, "This is exactly what I was talking about."

"Tch. You WERE the level headed one before." Stefan pulled out his persona card, but realizing it would reveal his new persona, he decided against it, hoping for a more opportune moment. He ran past Shinta, jumped on the stage, to get Yomiko.

"Oh I'm very level-headed right now," Shinta said blocking Karin's tribe with ones knife and summoning his Persona with the other, "that's why I can deal with both of you." Lucifer appeared and grabbed Stefan's legs. With a grunt Lucifer threw Stefan into Karin, who was too blinded by rage to notice or react.
