...pokerus doubles the speed you gain IVs. in the end it has no bearing whatsoever on the stats or efficiency of the pokemon.

take two that are exactly the same. now infect one with pokerus, and train both of them in the same EVs. at level 100 they will still be exactly the same.

I have pokerus lol. If you wanna use it to make training go faster just say so.

Y'know, my least favorite thing about this game (besides HMs) is that I keep going

I've got White. And I must say, the hair on the female character in these games is totally sexy. She's probably my favorite playable character in all 5 gens just for that.

There are a lot of things I felt they did well here. It's not my favorite (gen 3 still is), but I am impressed that they can still keep going this strong after so long.

Out of curiosity, why's Gen3 your favorite?
I haven't heard of too many people saying that.
Granted, I don't hear people talk about which gen is their favorite at all, usually, but still...

To be completely honest, the biggest reason is probably when I played it. The "Advanced Generation" with the GBA, GC, PS2, etc. was sort of my video game prime, and was, of course, when I played Gen 3. Emerald is the single Pokemon game I've spent the most time on and was when I first started getting interested in the competitive aspect of Pokemon, including EV training and the like (I still have the first team I ever EV trained). The Battle Frontier, while I never actually beat it, sucked out hundreds of hours of my life.

Aside from that, there were a lot of smaller aspects that they improved on from Gen 2 that I felt made things so much better altogether. Running Shoes, bag slots, berry growing, etc. The graphics were also a pretty great improvement and the music is some of my favorite. I liked how, as opposed to the previous two gens, every new town you wandered into did not have a gym (seriously, in the first two gens combined, a total of 4 towns didn't have a gym: Pallet, Lavender, New Bark, and Cherrygrove), which made the world feel so much bigger. The bike stuff they did, double battles...I'm sure there's more. Oh! Abilities. Those are pretty sweet. And weren't Natures introduced in Gen 3 as well?

Actually, I agree with Fox.
I think I'll still say that Gold and silver were my favorite(Plus the remakes), but I felt that Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald was the prime of Pokemon. I really liked the beauty/tough/smart/etc etc contests that they had, and there was a whole lot of stuff to do after beating the game's story. The Regis, Rayquaza, double battles, etc etc.

Plus, it was the last generation before all the pokemon started looking completely ridiculous. There were no honeycombs or ice cream scoops in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald.

I agree with Fox and Mike that R/S/E was the prime for competitive battling.
That's when I started really getting into it. I still have my original team that I used back then..I also entered the 10th anniversary tourny awhile back with sapphire and that team, so they are very sentimental to me ; ;

I also agree with Fox that this is the greatest female trainer so far. Lol. I'm happy she looks so much like me. yaycosplay

I remember when I picked up crystal. We were on vacation and I brought along a coupon and 30 bucks knowing that I was going to get it the day it came out regardless of where I was.

I started out playing as the girl just so I could experience it lol. Chose the starter that I didn't pick in G/S. It was the same stuff but still so new.

Also on completely different note, I like the 5th gen pokemon cries, more than the 4th gen ones.

4th gen cries were really weird. for the fifth gen cries i can almost figure out what they used to make the sound like velcro or a can full of marbles etc its interesting.

Also sorry Kilvas I asked Desu if he could pass the items on to you but he said he doesnt have wifi at home either.

I see the GTS is as worse as ever. And the negotiations are filled with just as many jerks. 3 guys showed off their shinies and left suddenly, and another guy tried to rip me off.
And no matter what you're trying to find, the GTS people are looking for nothing but Victinis, Zekroms and Reshirams Lv 9 and under, and anything level 100.

And right when I'm finally able to sit down and try the Dream world, the site's down.
