E3 2011: Welcome back to the stage of history
Well, it's that time again: E3!
I'll be trying to watch it here: http://e3.gamespot.com/press-conference/microsoft-e3/
Since I have a summer class, I can't watch it live. SIDFIUBSLIBSGIEUBSNEITNBSEOTNH
So I've got to try and find a way to watch the press conferences once I get back.
And don't forget: this year, they're revealing the new Nintendo console!

Re: E3 2011: Welcome back to the stage of history
So I heard from my friend that Microsoft E3 conference was another Kinect extravvaganza. The only things worth noting were Mass Effect 3, Gears of War 3, and two new Halo games. Halo 4 and Halo 1 remake.
I would be pissed about 2 more Halo games, seeing as they released 2 last year, and one was supposed to be the cannon last Halo game, but the Kinect bullshit pisses me off even more. Even after Microsoft got reemed for it last year by every hard core gamer they still pulled the same shit.
Fuck Microsoft.

Re: E3 2011: Welcome back to the stage of history
I don't see what's so bad about it, 2 more Halos is kinda meh to me. I'm more irritated at that. But the Kinect stuff doesn't bother me too much. (I'd never get it, but still)
Microsoft > Sony IMO
I just wonder what Sony's gonna do after all that hacker mess. I heard their main site got hacked into by the same group about a week or so ago.
And I hope Nintendo shows more on Kid Icarus from last year. AND POKEMON BATTLE REV 2 PLEEAASSEEE. D: I'd like something FE too. I don't really care for anything Mario or Zelda that they'll have to say. I got tiref of Mario games. And after Twilight Princess, Zelda seemed to run out of ideas to me, so I lost interest.

Re: E3 2011: Welcome back to the stage of history
Eh Sony is back up and running, the second hack happened 5 days after the first one when their system was still metaphorically bleeding out.
Mass Effect 3, Bioshock Infinite and Skyrim was about it for me, also some trailers for Catherine but other than the usual Microsoft BS
Microsoft: HEY GET A KINECT GUYS ITS COOL XD
Me: Uhh no...
Also for me Fire Emblem has died for me, the last game they released they came out and said they had no intention of localizing it so yeah.......

I would do another FE game. But I'm not sure I'm interested in getting that new Nintendo console. I feel pretty manhandled after the Wii.
But, the Sony Press conference was way cooler than the Microsoft one. They only spent like 10 minutes on the move and 3d stuff. And the 3d technology was actually cool.
As opposed to spending 60 minutes on motion controls and announcing 4 new games for a series that should be over by now.
Mass Effect 3 was cool though. But not much more that we didn't already know.

Great. So we got motion control, 3d, and now touchscreens.
Will we stop with all the gimmicky crap?

Not untill we get one that has all three in one.
The nintendo Tri.
The nintendo Tri.
Re: E3 2011: Welcome back to the stage of history
I don't see what the big deal is, unless they make it a hassle to use and have games that revolve solely around those things (which they probably will)Mufasa wrote:Great. So we got motion control, 3d, and now touchscreens.

Re: E3 2011: Welcome back to the stage of history
There was ONE game that I loved that strongly revovled around use of the DS touch screen.
The World Ends With You.
Thats how you use the touch screen. Great game. Wish it would have had a sequel or remake with co-op

Re: E3 2011: Welcome back to the stage of history
BTW, what time is Nintendo's conference? I might not be here to see it. Lol.
then again, it's not like the news'll be any different if I hear it later than if i were to hear it live. lol.
Re: E3 2011: Welcome back to the stage of history
Looks like most of their good stuff was for 3DS. They still did a hell of a lot better than Microsoft, but Sony did the best at this E3. There was nothing this year that really wowed me though. Cept sony's splitscreen eradication thing. That was cool.

Re: E3 2011: Welcome back to the stage of history
I cried a little when I saw what I thought was Luigi's Mansion 2 ;u;
As for the WiiU, I appreciate how innovative they were with the controller. And the slew of hardcore game support coming in. What'll put me over the top is if I have access to the downloadable stuff on my wii without sending it in. I would also like gamecube compatability but they didnt say anything about that.

AMAZING.
I have to say, I was really pleased with Nintendo's conference this year. It all looked great to me.
I'm looking forward to this WiiU thing too, though they never shown the actuall console, they controller looks cool, a ton of features, it's practically a freaking ipad. Lol. AND YOU CAN DRAW WITH IT.
So IMO, I think Nintendo did alot better than Sony and Microsoft this year. I was satisfied. Lol.

Re: E3 2011: Welcome back to the stage of history
I'm gonna get the kinect now because of ME3 and Ryze and also because I have a busted 360. But I do like the new Halo 4 game, fuck the remake I don't give 2 shits about that. The new one is a completely new type of area and just from seeing 2 new things from it is making me soooo pumped up for it.
Re: E3 2011: Welcome back to the stage of history
The Mass Effect 3 stuff looks like it'll slow down the process if you ask me. The dialogue choices are just one button and click. And the orders in battle just slow it down too. All you need to do is press a button to make them go over, and then use the companion wheel for each power. If even that, most of the time the AI just does it themselves.
I don't know about Ryze, but if you're just getting it for Mass Effect, save your money. It's just some gimmicky stuff. And who knows what bugs it'll introduce. Like having Garrus run into enemy fire when you want Liara to use barrier.

Lol Garrus runs into fire already, in Mass Effect 1 that seemed to be all he would do.
