Re: BlazBlue Calamity Trigger/Contiuum Shift
Moar Noel combos.
fA > fC > dD > Spring Rain > (dash) > fC > j.C > Revolver
Roughly 3.1k-3.3k damage
Works on counter hit and normal hit. I believe it works on everyone, tested Ragna, Hakumen, Arakune, Bang.
On counterhit
fA > fC > D > fB > dD > Spring Rain > (dash) > fC > j.C > Revolver
Around 3.2k to 3.5k damage, and hella cool looking.
Other notes:
Hitting with dD almost always allows for Spring Rain. Then just dash and fC to do my usual Revolver combo finish. That's around 2.5k - 2.9k in damage too.
I don't really remember, but I'm pretty sure this works:
Grab > CYD > dB > fC > dD > Spring Rain
fA > fC > dD > Spring Rain > (dash) > fC > j.C > Revolver

I never knew there was so much strategy in using Noel.

Oh that's only a tiny part of it.Rozencrutz wrote:I never knew there was so much strategy in using Noel.
It's like that for every character too
Also, like a lot of Drive attacks, Noel's are too slow/obvious to be used in too many places besides in the middle of combos.
...Apparently.
Of course this is what the people of Dustloop have proclaimed but they are all insane
It sounds like it could be true though
Of course I won't use any move unless I know what I am trying to accomplish with it, so I am assuming I shouldn't use drive out of combos and therefore don't drive spam
In fact I don't use drive at all most of the time because I can't really hit with the 6a I need to start a combo with drive in it.
This is a problem. My Noel does not use enough drive
How could this happen
I should drive spam sometime to see just how broken it is and also how it can be countered

Re: BlazBlue Calamity Trigger/Contiuum Shift
I just realized that every spoken line in BlazBlue is voiced.
What the hell
I can't even think of a single other game with as much dialogue as this one has that does this. RPGs can't even do that. (They do have a lot more text though...probably...but still)
And it's not like there isn't much dialogue. Teach Me Miss Litchi alone, as I recently found out by timing it, is an hour and a half's worth of material.
It's like the thing was forged by Hephaestus and infused with the blood of a thousand angels
Important Update:
> I has a fever
> Watched Teach Me Miss Litchi for an hour and a half
> Fever is gone
I oughta put the disk on my eyes and see if it fixes my vision, too

Use dD outside of combos when the opponent is blocking. It hits high and completely protects you from grabs and low attacks.

Re: BlazBlue Calamity Trigger/Contiuum Shift
Hmmmmm
I suspect one reason I may be having trouble with combos (such as Tao's drive loop, but that's one of the easy ones) is that, when a move is required at a specific time, I tend to mash the required button until the attack comes out.
It took me a while to even notice I was doing it
This might be slowing me down because if I am pressing the button repeatedly, my finger might be leaving the button at the time the attack becomes ready to be used, and then I am losing time until I hit it again.
Combos only work if you are fast enough, otherwise the enemy can tech out or something. This becomes more important when there are more hits in the combo cause the delay between attacks adds up.
The only alternative I can see is to press the button only once, at the exact time the move becomes available to be used.
Since this would require huge amounts of practice for every conceivable time any two attacks could be linked together, and since it sounds like a really terrible thing to have to do, it is probably the correct method.
Although apparently if you hold a button down, the input repeats for 5 frames, so maybe I could use that to my advantage. After this I'm going to go look up what a frame is
How do you all handle combo inputs? Are my concerns valid or what
Important Update: 1/60th of a second oh boy
Okay I'll get back to that once my reaction time is good enough to escape purple throws

Re: BlazBlue Calamity Trigger/Contiuum Shift
I switch between mashing and well-placed inputs depending on the combo. Ragna Tends to only need one press, but other character's I kinda mash after certain parts(like mashing jab after HoJ)

new announcer is SHIT.
now we get to hear this bitch go "COUUUUUUUNTER" all the time. Because we just wont get enough of her shitty voice.
What the hell is with litchi's fucking shading outline?
I like carl's new voice, he sounds like his balls are starting to drop.
"CARORO CLOBAR" WHAT THE FUCK YOU STUPID ANNOUNCER?

Re: BlazBlue Calamity Trigger/Contiuum Shift
My observations.
• Hakumen's new poke is both FAST and LONG. Doesn't Have HAXumen damage, but it's good for that ridiculous reach.
• Every character has a color scheme that gives them a sort of "cel shaded" look. I think it looks really awesome, and it will make people who only use default colors reconsider their poor choice for a badass alternative..
• Completely new schemes, unsure if old ones are still in.
• Nu looks more buffed than nerfed, though her old ground drive combo may not work anymore.
• So for everyone seems pretty solid except for Noel and Rachel, who appear to have taken the NERF Stick up the ass as opposed to a simple beating.
• New voices for the entire game. Most are shit.
• Bang now gets a superhero echo when he uses any of his special moves. Too bad his voice is shit.
• Ragna is looking really awesome with his new "Beliel Edge(perhaps Burial Edge?)", and you will notice it in combos. It's that weird slash/dive he uses in midair.
• Tsubaki is FAST and fun looking. Definitely using.
• It appears that the screen can get a lot larger now. (aka, lol have fun fighting Nu, Tager/cast in general)

You don't use only default, Cat. You use Emoel. I mean only default users.
Bang is looking GREAT. No air freeze on B Nail, seeing some invincibility on his new DD. His voice was bad at first, but I'm already used to it. Loving the hero echo.

Oh okay
Oh hey there is rain on the stage there
I take back any statements I may have issued regarding the fact that it is disappointing that Hazama's stage appears to be the docks again
Edit (related):
HA HA I will never wake up at hideous times like 4-7PM ever again
Thanks to my new alarm clock which does this
Although it might backfire if I just lay there grinning like an idiot the whole time while it wakes up everyone else in the house, then once it's over I turn it off and go back to sleep. LET'S FIND OUT

Re: BlazBlue Calamity Trigger/Contiuum Shift
Definitely trying Tsubaki and Hazama in january if CF gets this (melty bread said its very likely since the guy had Arcana Heart and upgraded to AH2 when it came out, had Melty Blood Act Cadenza and upgraded to Actress Again, so since he has Calamity trigger he will probably get contiuum shift, but in mid december)
I like tao now, her moves look much faster, and her 236C looks like it has alot less lag after it if its blocked or missed.
Carl's sandwich still seems to exist, but so far only looks possible with his jC version, over his 2a 2b 5c or 2a 5a 5b 5c versions, since he gets much more push back from his 5b and 5c, so he has to use 2a 5b jC now. No complaints with that, since its overhead, which people seem to not block a good 50% of the time, and since its expected, Carl can mix it up sometime with a random low attack, or even a nirvana DD. Also in the vid where he fought litchi, it looked like his Jb wallslamed on counter hit, which is perfect for 214 214 D Distortion drive if nirvana is close enough or his 632146 C distortion. Carl still looks very useable so far, good thing hes not as bad as things seemed from the start. Also nirvana laser activating even while carl is guarding=bye bye to bullshit pressure game Ragna/Jin/Noel/Tsubaki/Arakune/Nu
Also, god, they renerfed rachel's frog to not activate on downed opponents last minute before they released CS. Gay. Guess its good i decided to stop bothering to learn rachel.

Wow. Fuck it. Not even bothering with rachel.
I stopped paying attention to the carl vs litchi fight after looking at her started to hurt my eyes. Is her dmg still shit?

Though Litchi does have some new moves, mainly her Shiki tackle, that are cool and useful looking. It may just be Carls insane pressure. Time will tell.

goddamit i keep watching the carl vs hazama vid just to hear hazama''s theme. also I like carl's new voice, he sounds like he isnt a pussy anymore.
Re: BlazBlue Calamity Trigger/Contiuum Shift
Well from what I've seen of Litchi videos, there is no difference in her damage at all agaisnt other characters, so my guess is Carl might of got an hp buff then. I don't really notice any real difference.
