- Me and my random online crew completed the Dead Center campaign on normal.
HEY SHUT UP
Look we tried it on advanced
It didn't work.
We were all constantly near death and finally wiped in the middle of part 2.
So we set the difficulty to Normal cause we were all pretty new.
IT WAS A COMPLETELY REASONABLE DECISION
SHUT UP
There were only four parts to it instead of five like it usually went in L4D.
That sounds not good, yeah, BUT:
1. All the parts were radically different from each other.
2. All the parts were loooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggggggg
Or at least it felt that way
Here are parts:
not their actual names of course but who cares
1. Exploding building. WHAT
2. Like, a town or something.
It was really different from TEH PARISH though because it was...more like a bunch of scattered buildings and roads instead of a tightly packed city.
3. THE DEAD CENTER ITSELF
I thought "hey like in Dead Rising" for exactly one second and then forgot about it, cause it felt completely different and not a rip-off. Pro
4. CRESCENDO: SCAVENGER
WHAT
Get all the gas cans to win.
And they're scattered in all sorts of fun places
Oh and zombies and they don't stop
Okay so here's the slightly more detailed version:
Part One: WHAT THE FUCK THERE IS FIRE EVERYWHERE I CAN'T SEE SHIT
We started right at the evac station up thirty flights of goddamn stairs like in the trailer. Also this is the first campaign if you weren't aware
Yep there was my baseball bat right there on the weapons table. Yaaaay
But something was not on the weapons table that should have been there.
GUNS
Fortunately there was a pistol. OH BOY A PISTOL
Think someone said you could get it twice for insta dual pistols. OH BOY DUAL PISTOLS
YEAH HOW ABOUT ACTUAL WEAPONS
But there were none.
For the first 75% of the stage we had nothing but secondary slot weapons
Also there were crowbars on the table.

I then became COACH FREEMAN

Fortunately there weren't too many zumbies at this point which is good because PISTOLS AND CLUBS.
Okay so I saw the katana and couldn't resist using it.
Its pro
I then became NINJA COACH
Turns out the evac station was at the top of a hotel.
And the hotel, it turns out, is BURNING TO THE GROUND
"Hey there's some fire" I thought to myself
It does not stay "some" for very long
IF YOU THOUGHT ZOMBIES WERE BAD
NOW YOU MUST FACE ZOMBIES AND A FIRE MAZE
JUMP AROUND WHEEE
At one point we apparently had to walk through the fire to actually progress.
Probably there was a different route but oh well maybe next time
Also another fun elevator ride with funner flying zombie glitches
This one alerted the horde upon ending I think
HEY WAIT A MINUTE YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO USE THE ELEVATOR DURING A FIRE
Oh well that won't stop us from jumping around in it while it fills up with cool smoke

At one point the fires were so bad that the visibility went to hell
lolol hell
Get it cause fire-
Never mind
It wasn't so bad that it made the game too much harder to play, it just made it feel like you were trapped in a burning building. Oh yeah and zombies
Okay so that isn't the best feeling but it added to the atmosphere or something
Then we escaped or something and got machine guns. Look I'm getting tired okay cut me some slack
Part Two: CHARGER

Okay what the hell why did Rochelle call the Hunter a "Jumper"?
And more importantly
WHY ARE THERE A BILLION CHARGERS
Fortunately they didn't appear to do much damage but I wasn't really watching everyone's life so yeah.
Although this is where we all died and a Charger was part of it
I think me standing in acid was another part. I don't like acid very much
So then we restarted this part on Normal and it went okay.
Well we were all near death most of the time for the remaining three parts. BUT STILL
A bunch of scattered buildings n' roads.
It was one of those super daylight adventures during the day, too
Hey maybe we should turn our flashlights off
No? Well uh okay no big deal I guess
At one point Nick (suit gamblor) announced the presence of a Charger by shouting "Hillbilly!"
Amazing
At this point I am getting too tired to remember that many specifics.
But the crescendo event
I'll neverFORGIVE YOUforget that
First we broke into the gun store.
Yep the selection was pretty good
Also a box of laser sights. BUY TWO GET ONE FREE
These weapon addons...not sure how they work but they are very cool.
I think a box of em (also includes fiery/explodey shots) is enough for everyone to use once
The laser sight was attached permanently to my machine gun.
It like, increased my accuracy
I could pick off a Boomer from far away
Okay so they are huge obvious targets BUT STILLLLL
I'm not sure how useful it ACTUALLY is but it's free and permanent so w/e
I used that upgraded machine gun for the rest of that part and then most of the next one
But the crescendo thingy was here too.
It was hard to hear what it was because everyone was talking on the mics and we were running all over the gun store, but apparently...
A cccrrraaazzzyyy pppeeerrrsssooonnn was hiding out in a locked room or something.
He wanted us to go get him some soda.
And until we did so he was going to leave his alarm on.
So we had to get the hell out of the gun store, sprint down some stairs, run into what was basically a 7-11 with all the lights out, have someone grab a 6-pack of cola (this person could no longer use weapons) and then escort the cola back to wherever the drop point was I never found out.
Of course this was a crescendo so until all of the above was accomplished, zombies killed the fuck out of us.
I couldn't even tell what was going on for most of it
I do have a vague memory of being in black & white mode with 1HP and the only defibrillator with a dead un-survivor outside the room.
Fortunately we found some first aid in the gun shop and I was able to use it to heal just in time.
Of course when I ran out to rez the dead Nick I had to run back to get my defibrillator because I had dropped it when I picked up the first aid. im the best
We eventually won somehow. It was the hardest part of the whole campaign.
Actually there isn't much to say about the other two parts in part because I am tired and cannot remember so good.
So this concludes my report for the time being, though I may add more details later.
Oh and (after resetting the difficulty) we made it through without a single death (the rez'd Nick was saved after all).
We all escaped by smashing through the glass doors of the mall in a cool blue car
IN SLOW MOTION.

Oh yeah so this game is pretty good
It is kind of ironic though
Looks like I was the first of all of you to actually play it

Actually there is only one issue I could see. Besides the glitch where I had my arm out like there was something in front of me I was grabbing for a while
The new survivors aren't that cool just yet. They're good but not great (Louis etc).
Of course:
1. They've got time. Their characters are supposed to develop as the storyline progresses, too
2. It was hard to hear much of what they were saying over the mics. Maybe subtitles

- First and most importantly, I was right when I said that the new survivors would get better over time.
It only took two campaigns and they are now all awesome
I have to say so far my favorite is Nick.

Why hello black and white screen for the hundredth time this campaign
I think I got downed twice within the first two minutes of part 4
Oh yeah there were five parts in this one. They felt shorter than Dead Center's though. (like, the regular length in L4D1)
1. Highway/A crappy motel. At night this time
2. The carnival already? Well okay
Basic carnival stuff like a carousel
3. Tunnel of Love (pretty much it's a pink sewer)
and the roller coaster.
4. "Barns".

We were on roofs and then...
Ugh I have no idea what this was supposed to be
5. The concert.
FUCKING
AWESOME
This is the standard camping crescendo but man is it a good one
All the lights went up and the music started blarin'
And it didn't stop all through the waves of zombies
AND IT CHANGED TO THE ROCK REMIX OF THE TANK THEME WHEN A TANK APPEARED

Seriously if my group ever goes "Alright we're going to camp up in the stands instead of onstage" I'm disconnecting right there even though it's at the end of an hour's worth of teamwork I mean it
Yeah it's probably not the best place to be for surviving.

In any case I don't think I've gone into enough detail about the Tunnel of Love in Part 3: "Coaster".

By the way it's worth pointing out that we were on Normal again.
And we were STILL all half dead most of the time. Once I was at like 10HP while downed.

But we only wiped once (during the concert. Ouch) and the only other death was when Ellis couldn't reach the helicopter in time and we left him.In memory of

To sum up:
-Best campaign ever.
-Best finale ever, with a vengeance
-This game is awesome
-I looked at a pool filled with dead people and went "ugh"
But Nick said "Those guys sucked at the high dive." Nick is amazing
-This game beats the shit out of us on freaking Normal. Hopefully once everyone knows what to do it will be easier so we can get killed on harder difficulty settings
-Excuse me? EXCUSE ME!?
-I had the lowest number of friendly fire instances and the best accuracy of the group. What
-It took an hour and 19 minutes. ALMOST AS LONG AS AN ACTUAL MOVIE
-Oh god next is Swamp Fever
Might have something else to say later.

I refuse to play easy mode for any game. Not even for a speed run. When I heard KH2 Normal mode was easier than the Jap version, I instantly went to Proud mode for my first playthrough.

Hunter pounces DO knock nearby allies away.
And why doesn't anybody like the Hunter ;_;. He's under appreciated.
Also my list goes something like this.
Jockey
Hunter - Charger(highly stage dependent)
Spitter - Boomer
Smoker
I only like being the Tank because I find most everyone else using the Tank n my team is incompetent.
EDIT: Let it be known, right now, I will NOT be dealing with complaints about the difficulty settings. If you want a game where you can win easily, go play on easy/normal mode with random players. I will ALWAYS be playing on at LEAST Advanced mode, unless playing Realism mode, where this can be lowered to Normal. Don't like it, don't play with me. Whiners will be warned twice, then forcibly removed from the team.
In other news,, I completely refuse to ever play Hard Rain campaign with Rozen or Catbread.

Stage three: Witches, the game. I think we wound up trying to do that stage like 10-15 times on advanced. At one point we startled three witches at once.
