Pokemon Roleplay

I'll probably just pick some random move off the list of moves. Try not to use it often though.

By the way, I volunteer to be any trainer as necessary.

Pretty much anyone could be any trainer really. Cept, I have to be the Gym Leaders and such. Unless someone were to request to be one. And I were to allow it.

You know, for regulation reasons.

Egg - Dark violet with a sickly green crack pattern. It doesn't like to be touched.

Personality: A cordial, if eccentric, man, Richard does not always seem to care about those around him. For that matter, he doesn't seem to care much for his surroundings all the time, and will occasionally zone out, even during fights. He's also a bit full of himself. But just a bit.
All of his pokémon wear matching tophats.

Backround: Once one of the higher-echelon researchers at Silph Co., he claims to have helped invent the Great Ball. He was fired shortly after he began working on an "independent project", then quickly hired by a "different company". Unfortunately for him, that one "didn't really work out".
Doctor Solace has been unemployed for a little over three years now.

Goals: To his back is strapped what at first glance seems to be the standard Pokémon Backpack, only made of a dull grey metal. Upon closer examination, cables run from this device to a glove of similar material on his right hand. Richard is attempting to "get it to work right", which may be difficult as he has no facilities with which to do so.
He is also trying to find his "awesome laptop I made while at Silph".
He carries around a notebook instead of a Pokédex. Apparently, it is mostly full.

Hey I have a question

I'm closing in on Dark Cave, and I'd like to try to catch a Pokemon (specifically, a Ditto, but there are lots of cool Pokemon in caves, so I'll see what happens).
But it hasn't been 14 days yet.
So, if it hasn't been 14 days by that time, can I catch something under the following pretexts:
-I only have 3 Pokemon
-They are all first stage
?

Also, I'm kind of unsure about the capturing/Pokemon switching rules. Why shouldn't we be allowed to catch as many as we want?
If the issue is having too many awesome Pokemons too quickly, I'd prefer a system in which the Pokemon avaliable for capture are more based upon the games' areas and are more random, if that'd balance it out.

I'd like to help, but the rules are as they are. Sorry. And the reason I made it that way, was because one of the frustrating things about pokemon was that if you wanted to have a specific type in your team, you'd have to wait till you could find that type, while in the mean time, you'll have raised several pokemon to a higher level, and then you'd have to start over with the one you want.

So that's why that's the way it is.

As for the 14 days rule, I think that was fair enough. All you need to do is just wait a few days. I'm sure you could come up with some plot thing that would keep you occupied in the cave for a few days. Perhaps you could go to the cave, realize that it's pitch black, leave, try to find a way to get flash, get flash from another series of unfortunate events, then go back to Dark cave and catch what you need to.

Just one last question- if someone loses the coin toss and fails to catch something, does the 14 day limit start again? I'm assuming yes, but I'd like to be sure.

One of the frustrating things about pokemon was how you couldn't catch the pokemon you wanted when you wanted them. So now you can catch any type you want, rather than being bombarded with 14 different bug types at the beginning, and then catching a level 12 Bagon, when the rest of your team is already in the 40s.

And no, if you fail to catch something, your counter doesn't reset. I'm not that cruel. And you can try to catch that pokemon again. Only legendaries you get one shot at. But if you miss, the legendary flees, your counter doesn't reset, and you can have the oppurtunity to catch the legendary again at some other time, when it shows up again.

But as far as important NPCs, unless previously said, otherwise, I will play as them. Guys like Oak, Gym leaders, important people, I'll play as.

But generic people, I.E. Trainers, and such, would be and can be played by anyone.

If there's any character you're not sure about, then ask me and I'll tell ya.
