E3 2010: June 14-17

I'll be there for all of em.
This is totally my field. I care about -all- of it, even if I'm only going to actually buy about 5% of everything that's shown.

Maybe I'll "summarize" the conferences once they're done.

But it's true...the new software parts of E3 are all like "HERES EXPENSIVE THING TO BUY AND GAMES YOU CANT PLAY WITHOUT THING"

And guess what Nintendo's presentation's going to be centered around? I'd bet five hundred and ninety-nine US dollars that it'll be all about the NINTENDO 3DS.

Absolutely. I think this time, besides the whole "3D games" thing which is bad enough, it also has, you guessed it, MOTION SENSING CAPABILITIES ZOMG

It'll be fucking fantastic

I guess we won't be seeing much coverage of the Microsoft Circus...it's a "technology-free" event.

But also...I've heard this rumor before, and now Kotaku's given it a shred of credibility, so:

Supposedly, Retro Studios-makers of the universally acclaimed Metroid Prime series-are going to reveal their next project at E3.
That project being a revival of THIS series.
If this is true...it will be beautiful

Well I am okay so far with the motion sensor thing just cause most of the games I am interested in that are going to have them a part of it the company is still having controller as the default method of control. You watch an amazing game will come out for that only uses it

Believe me I wish I had the ability to type out all their comments during the event that were in the chatbox it was insane.

The EA and Ubisoft conferences just went down. Sadly, both were better than Microsoft's.

Here were some of the highlights:
EA:

-Madden '11: THE EVOLUTION OF FOOTBALL
I couldn't tell you how it's evolving, though...

-The Sims 3. It's...a game.

-Crysis 2. It'll be released in 3D, also.

-Bulletstorm. This game looks awesome.
Looks like a lighter Gears of War- made by the same team and everything.
A points system based on getting extreme kills and unlocking stuff.
And the dialogue...it's incredible
"I predict an imminent getting the fuck out of here."

-Star Wars Old Republic, an MMO with Jedis and Siths.
Everyone gets a ship. They showed a big CG movie as well.

Ubisoft:

-Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. Lots of assassins attacking people in broad daylight. I bet it is a gang

-Shaun White Skateboarding.
Not much to speak of, but the presenter, Joel McHale, is really funny.
He asked Shaun White whether the game could render all of his hair.

-Laser tag? What?
I...don't fully understand this bit...it's not even a video game!
It's just laser tag!

-Innergy...the breathing game.
TIME YOUR BREATHING TO THE CUTE BUBBLE

-Kinect Fitness...AGAIN! Featuring the return of "Felicia, the hot Kinect Fitness girl" from Microsoft's conference.
"Felicia, great job. How are you going to celebrate?"
"With some ice cream!"
"Yeah, great, you worked out for a whole 3 minutes."
I lol'd pretty hard

-Raving Rabbids Travel Through Time!
And that's all we know about that.

-Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.
It actually looked kind of good...invisibility and sniping, y'see.
"That guy had a family!"
The whole audience lol'd pretty hard at that one

-Driver: San Francisco. its cars

-"Project DUST".
Based around tribes that control the elements...mass alterations of the land...
This one's kind of a mystery.

-ARTISTS COMBINE THEIR UNIQUE VISIONS TO RETELL THE STORY OF A GREAT HERO: lol its Rayman
"Rayman Origins": 2d, co-op platforming with a hand-drawn style of artwork.

-"ManiaPlanet", a...media platform? What does that mean?
You can make RPGs on it? Uh
I don't get it

-"MICHAEL JACKSON: THE GAME".
Learn how to choreography, or something.
No footage or anything was shown...

Castlevania: Harmony of Despair, for XBLA, in HD.

Sweet it comes out next month for XBLA awesome I have been needing a new Castlevania game.

I guess the insane theory that Nintendo was tricking its opposition into making lots of casual games and looking stupid, then counterattacking with hardcore games, might have been closer to the truth than you'd think...

BARK LIKE A DOG: The Game

So...Zelda looks like the same game again. But the graphics look worse. Kirby yarn is a direct ripoff of Paper Mario. Donkey Kong looks like the same game it's always been, and the same game as Super Mario Bros. And Kid Icarus just looks pretty lame.

I think you're being a bit harsh/critcal about it.
Kid Icarus doesn't look THAT bad. :/

I'm really excited about it actually.
