The Pokemon Roleplay

"Tch. If you don't have the killer instinct that it takes to be a trainer, then you won't be able to beat Whitney. Meowth! Slash!" Meowth regained it's footing and ran for Combusken at full speed.

"...Oh? Have we arrived?"

The Metang shook its head.

"Then this would be... Cherrygrove? Hm. I suppose I should get some fresh air."

The Metang nodded, and removed its hat. Richard swung down from his perch and stretched.

"Aah... Yes, that's better." He looked around. "Not many people out today... Oh, that reminds me, I don't suppose you..."

The Metang looked back at Richard, apparently somewhat disgruntled.

"Look, Simon, I don't want you accidentally scaring the townsfolk. There aren't many pokémon such as yourself around these parts. I'm just being cautious."

The Metang, Simon, rolled its eyes.

"Most people wouldn't even ask! Look, you won't even be in there for very long. I swear, every time I ask we go through this..."

Simon hesitated for a moment, then nodded.

"Thank you," said Richard, as he recaptured Simon. "Do try to be more amicable next time..."

He chuckled and shook the professor's hand. "The same goes for you, sir. I'm Jose and this is Micheal. I believe he was the one sent by Professor Elm. I'm just here for the ride." He went back to Micheal and gave him a push. He whispered, "Say hi."

Michael, momentarily stunned, snapped into focus. "Professor Oak, what a surprise!" He shook hands with the Professor. "Honored to meet you. I've read about your work. But, uh... we weren't sent by Professor Elm. You must be thinking of someone else."
Gastly was enthusiastically spinning around.

"Hm? You weren't sent here by Professor Elm? Well, please, come on in, don't stand out there all day." Oak motioned inside the lab.

"Thank you." He he walked inside, Gastly spinning after him.
"Seems like kind of a small place to be working... if you don't mind me asking, what are you working on, Professor?"

"Oh just some research on pokemon. Nothing urgent. Right now, I'm just trying to pass the time until the package arrives. I'm putting some particular interest in electric type pokemon right now. So far, my results have shown that some pokemon have various degrees of the amount of voltage they can use. For example, something like a pikachu and or Electabuzz can produce high amounts of voltage, but something like a Mareep or Voltorb produces weaker voltage. It's quite facsinating."

"Electric types..." Michael took a Poke Ball off of his belt, attempted to toss it up in the air and catch it, and dropped it.
"Hold up, let me get that... Right. I have a Magnemite here, actually. Would it help your research in some way? If so, you're welcome to it for a little while."

He laughed and walked in, "I guess we aren't your package. But Do you need any help done around here?" He asked, "I'm kinda strapped for cash and was wondering if you need like an oddjob done." He was holding the egg in front of him.

"Combusken go at him and take the hit then use sky uppercut!"

Combusken goes and takes the hit full on (hp 40%) then goes for the hit

"No, I've already researched Magnemites, and Magnetons. Now if you had a Magnezone, that would be something. They are very hard to come by in the Jhoto and Kanto regions. My theory that Magenemite's voltage triples when it evolves was correct, and I'd like to further the investigation, however, traveling all the way to MT. Coronet in the Honen region would be very problematic. You see, I need to wait for my package here, and once it arrives, the research wouldn't be as necessary as it is now."

Michael put the Poke Ball back on his belt, while Gastly began to spin around him in circles. "Triples, huh... that is interesting. But what's this package you're waiting for? Sounds like it's pretty important."

"Well, I'm not sure if you know this, but there's a crisis at the power plant in Cerulean city. So the radio tower, monorail, and various other things are currently without power. The package is something that myself and professor Elm will help to rectify the situation there."

"No, I hadn't...Gastly, could you cut that out? It's making me dizzy!"
Gastly stopped spinning, slowly drifted down to the ground, and sunk into the floor like an oil spill.
"Excuse me. I hadn't heard anything about a power outage at Cerulean. If there's anything I can do to help out, just let me know- I'm not too busy at the moment."

He noted he was just getting completely ignored and just sat in a chair and waited for the Micheal and the professor to finish talking. He rolled the egg around in his arms.

"Oh? I didn't notice I had visitors. Who might you be?" An elderly man was looking quizzically at Jose. "That's quite a nice egg you have there."

"Why thank you sir. I'm just a friend of his." He pointed to Micheal. "I'm Jose." He offered a hand for a shake and said, "Pleased to meetcha."

The man nodded and shook Jose's hand enthusiastically. "You can call me Mr. Pokemon." He was still eying the egg. "Pardon my curiosity, but that egg of yours...what's the story? I'm kind of a Pokemon egg enthusiast, you see."

"One down there we go," he said as he recalled combusken back to his pokeball." So do you still want to keep going?"

"Oh no, that's quite alright." Oak said. "This package that professor Elm is delivering to me, should be quite enough to help."

"Grrr. I'll show you-" Stephie began.

"Stop!" Said a girl from behind her.

"Huh? Whitney?" Stephie said.

"No need to go any further Stephie. I'll take care of him now. Besides, it's been a while, I'm in the mood for a battle." Whitney said, walking towards them.

"Oh! this just got even more interesting. So are you the Leader of this gym," he asked while smiling at her.

"Yes. That's me. So, you want a battle I assume?" Whitney asked, placing a hand on her hip.

"Yeah if that's all right with you? I want to see how much excitement you can give me during the battle."

"Hm. Fine. Your terms." Whitney said.
