The Pokemon Roleplay

"Hm? Wait, what's that? Is that a house?" Jenna looked up and noticed a house in the horizon. "Gasp! Is that the place?! Please tell me it is!", Jenna said as she ran towards the house.

"Boy I hope she remembers to knock before barging into someone's home..." Mike mumbled to himself.

"Ah...yes...finally..", Jenna said panting as she ran up to the house. "Um..hello? Is anyone home?", she said knocking quietly on the door.

"Hm? More visitors? Oh! Perhaps it's the package! Excuse me, you two, I must answer the door!" With that Oak ran to the door and opened it, seeing the three from before. "Hello there! Are you here to deliver the package, or are you just stopping by?"

"...Who's the old fart?" Mike asked rudely.

"Mike!!", Jenna slapped his arm. "That's Professer Oak! A famous Pokemon reseacher! Don`t talk like that!", she yelled at him. "Ah, yes sir! We're here to deliver this! I'm sorry it took so long!", Jenna said bowing her head and handing the package to him.

"Ah! Yes!" Oak exclaimed, grabbing the package eagerly and ignoring Mike's rudeness.

"Hm. Seems kinda senile if you ask me." Mike said.

"Hm? Oh! I apologize, please, what are your names?" Oak asked.

Jenna slapped Mike's arm again. "I'm Jenna, sir!", Jenna replied bowing her head. "And this is Mike and Allen.", she said pointing to them respectively.

"Oh come now! It wouldn't be any fun if I were to make all the rules. How about you do it since your the leader of this place," he said while having a huge grin on his face.

"Yo Professor, so what research are you traveling the globe to do now." Allen said picking up Gible before he ran in to eat some of the components that were strew all over the houses floor.

"Ah! Well, as I was just telling these two gentlemen right here-" Oak began.

"Oh hey! It's that egghead guy." Mike pointed out, earning another slap from Jenna as he interrupted Oak.

"Well, I'm currently researching electric type pokemon, and to see if they can help somehow to solve the current power crisis in the Kanto powerplant." Oak opened up the package and reached into it. He then pulled out an ultraball. "This is a pokemon that I haven't had a chance to study due to it's rarity, I theorize that it should be plenty enough to solve the current crisis."

"Well it doesn't exactly have a story... It was just thrust into my arms for a chance to see if I can make it hatch and make my living with it." He laughed, "I've been traveling for a while with it. I wonder what it'll become..."

"Yo!" was his response as he put the egg on his head to balance it again.

And so Richard Solace passed through Cherrygrove. He got a few quizzical looks, but he was lost in thought, and probably would've ignored them anyway.

Mostly he was stuck on how to get that thing working right.

Thus he completely neglected to get any Pokéballs. Whoops.

"It's an...Electivire. Rare to the Kanto-Johto region. Come to the power plant in Cerulean eventually and I can show you. I cannot release the pokemon till I get there anyway. We found that as an electric pokemon remains in it's pokeball, it's charge steadily builds up. Not enough to make a difference in battle, but for the mechanical purposes that we are using it for at the power plant, it should help the machinery run more efficiently."

"What the hell's an Electivire?" Mike asked.

"Electivire's an evolved form of Electebuzz. It was discovered in the Sinnoh region.", Jenna replied. She turned back to Oak, "Oh, ok...I kinda had plans to go to Violet. But I'll stop by eventually....at one point...maybe...someday..."

"Oh that's quite alright. No need to rush. Oh! By the way! I have something for you Miss. Reeves, as payment for your time. Come here for a minute." Oak ushered her into a back room.

"Ohh! Yay! What is it?", Jenna asked as she followed him to the backroom.

"Well, I have two things for you. Professor Elm gave you that Eevee of yours, and now I'm going to offer you a pokemon as well." Oak handed her a Greatball. "Inside of this is a Ninetails. It's a pokemon I raised myself back when I was your age. I haven't used her for years, and she'd be better off with someone like you. Her name is Ashburn. Unfortuneately, due to your lack of experience as a trainer, she might not obey you...However, should you earn yourself some badges, I'm sure that within time, she shall grow to respect you. Now, here's the second thing. And something more practical. It's one of my greatest contributions to the pokemon world; The Pokedex. It can give you information on any pokemon you encounter. Use it well, as I'm sure you will be going on a journey through the pokemon world now, correct?"

"Ohh! Yes, of course! Thank you so much, Professor!", Jenna replied taking the Pokedex and Great Ball. "Wow! I've always wanted a Ninetales! Thank you so much! I don't know how to repay you!"

"Oh it's no trouble at all. You've done plenty just by bringing me this." Oak smiled.

"So you have another person collecting data for you now eh Professor?" Allen said chuckling, "Thought I've been collecting data on my own as well and submitting it to my own Pokedex I got from Professor Ivy when I met her." he paused, "Well Jenna looks like you'll be going on a journey to the Johto League then I'm assuming?" Allen laughed a bit, "Convenient that Violet City has the first gym." he smiled looking at his guide book keeping it away from Gible who was trying to eat it, "Alright, here" He put a vitamin enhanced cracker into Gible's mouth, "That should make him full for awhile."

"Huh. Well, I guess if you got Allen going with you, then you don't really need me now do you?" Mike said. "Alright, nice meeting you all." He turned around to leave.

"But Bill said you had to come! Don't go! Pleeease?", Jenna asked, grabbing his arm.

Allen paused for a moment, "I offered to come and help if I could," he looked at Mike, "And I feel like as a travel guide I would only get us lost in the woods."

"Why are you so persistent on me staying?" Mike asked. "You could get a map, or find someone else to show you around. Why me?"
