The Pokemon Roleplay

"Well...because...because we started this journey together, and we're gonna finish it! And Bill said you had to stay anyway..."

"What journey? You have stuff to do on your own. You can't rely on others forever. And screw what Bill said." Mike scowled.

"...I wish you wouldn't make such a scene in my office...." Oak mumbled to himself.

"I know...but I want you to come...please? ...Oh! I'm sorry Professor! Come on, Mike", Jenna grabbed his arm and dragged him outside.

"Ack!" Mike said. "I still don't get why you want me to come so bad." He mumbled and crossed his arms.

"I..I just want you to, Ok?", Jenna said as she hugged her Pichu. "Now come on, let's get to Violet.."

"You still haven't given me a straight answer." Mike refused to budge.

"Ugh...I don't know why, ok? I just want you to...Now come on!", Jenna started pulling on his arm again.

"Listen. Untill you give me a straight answer, I'm not moving anywhere. Got it?" Mike said.

"...Fine. I like you, ok? That's why I want to come. There's your answer. Can we go now?", Jenna mumbled as she started walking in what she thought was the direction of Violet.

"....Are we headed back to Cherrygrove?" Mike looked at her as she walked. He pointed in a different direction. "Ahem." He walked in that direction. "Violet's this way."

"Oh...oops..", She turned and started following Mike. "Wait, so you're gonna come with me?", Jenna asked smiling with her Pichu in her arms.

"I guess so. You'd end up lost and starving to death without me. I'd rather not have that on my concience."

"Yay! Thank you!", she hugged him. "Hey, I have an idea. Why don't we battle?"

"What?" Mike blushed as she hugged him. "Why do we need to battle now?"

"Well if I'm gonna be challanging the Gym in Violet, I need practice. And this poor Eevee hasn't been out of his pokeball since I got it...", Jenna replied holding Eevee's pokeball.

"Fine. How do you want to do this?" Mike asked.

-PLAYER PHASE-

"Um, hey, Mr. Pokemon?"

He tore his gaze from Jose's egg to look at Michael. "Ah, yes?"

"I was wondering...I'm a huge fan of Pokemon battles, and now I have a few Pokemon. But I'm just not good at fighting, it seems, so... what would you say would be the best way to improve my skill?"

Mr. Pokemon thought for a while. "Well, I'm not really an expert on battles, but... I'd say, the best way to improve is simply to gain more experience."

"You mean XP, right? I knew that already..."

"Wait, what? No, I mean personal experience. Challenge more people! You'll probably lose frequently, but over time, you'll grow to be a competent Trainer."

"Oh..."

"Although... You could try at a Pokemon Gym. That's where Trainers go to...well, train. There's a gym in Violet City to the west, it's not very far."

"Well...alright. Thanks."

"Just a moment...I may not be the most knowledgeable when it comes to battles, but I can tell you this: There's more to being a Trainer than just winning battles. You also need to know how to lose, both for yourself and your Pokemon. You can't get all flustered over losses. That's almost as important as being strong."

But Michael was not paying attention anymore. "Alright, Gastly, I think it might be a good idea to hit up that Gym...but there's also the cave that needs exploring. Hmm. Jose, you still here? Got any ideas?"

"Come to think of it, did a bunch of people just come in here and then leave while I wasn't looking?"

"Hmm, let's see...Singles, Three Pokemon, last one standing wins?"

"Alright then. Let's do this." Mike placed a hand on his pokeball. "We both draw at the same time, got it?"

Allen smiled, "Should be interesting I think I'll let my Pokemon out for a rest since you'll be busy with your battle, I can be your referee if you want." as he looked at Mike and Jenna he released his two other pokeballs, releasing Lucario and Gardevoir, "Here Gible play with Lucario." he sat the energetic dragon down as it began to run at the Lucario who was balancing itself on one hand. Gardevoir simply rested on the ground and let of the feeling of calmness as it watched Gible run circles around Lucario.

"Sounds like something's happening outside. If you'll excuse me, Professor, Mr. Pokemon..."

Michael and Gastly left the building and saw what appeared to be a battle in the making.
"Oh! Looks like a battle's about to start." Ever the battle enthusiast, he decided to watch.
"You know, Gastly, this might be another way to learn some battle skills. I don't want to interrupt nothing, so I'll just sit over by the bushes there..."
Gastly, who also enjoyed watching battles, displayed his enthusiasm by spinning.

"Ah! Right! Got it!", Jenna grabbed a pokeball, and placed her Pichu on the ground.

"Go! Haywire!" Mike tossed a pokeball, and out of it came a Flaffy.

"Ok! Come on out Eevee!", Jenna tossed the pokeball in the air. An Eevee popped out and landed on the ground, ready for action. "Um, What can this thing use again...?", Jenna mumbled to herself.

".....Ugh. Have a sit down Haywire, this could take a while." Mike sat down, and placed his head on his hand.

"Flaffy!" Haywire yawned and curled into a ball.
