"I don't think that you're petty." Shinichi folded his arms. "I think you have some of the greatest potential I've seen. Your kido can become a great asset to the Gotei 13. As well as your other skills. I'd hate to see that go to waste. I have faith in you. That's why I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get you to be a captain." Shinichi paused for a second. "...And it's not just your skills. Your values are good too. We need more guys like you as captains. There's a lot of rotten eggs in the Gotei 13. With someone like you as captain, we could help clear those out...."

"Thats nice to know. I'll keep it in mind i guess." Shigure said as he left to his own room.

"Tch." Shinichi's bandages crumbled as he scowled.

"As always he has to be Dr.Phil eh Suzu?"

"Err......I think he's just looking out for your best interest." Suzu replied

"Is that so? Well he needs to lay off a bit." Shigure replied to Suzu.

"Maybe so........but I think its just because he has faith in you." she replied

"I see. I'll keep that in mind I guess." Shigure said as he yawned and laid down to take a nap

Mashashi began to think, "Perhaps I could always compete, but I really don't want to advance." he continued on his walk then his sword spoke up.

"Why are you complacent, you could easily advance if you wanted," the sword spoke up.

"My real reason I really don't know yet." he replied to the sword.

*Nighttime.*

"....." Shinichi sat on the roof of the sqaud 3 barracks, watching the half moon.

Shigure yawned as he got up from his nap seeing it was nighttime. "That was great. I really needed that." he said as he jumped off his bed. "Well then, what to do tonight?" he asked himself

Mashashi sat in squad 9's barracks listening to the nighttime noise, "Well tomorrow work starts once again."

"....." Shinichi scratched at his bandages. "Damn these things....They're so annoying..."

"'You shouldn't be scratching at those,'" Shinichi looked up and saw Yahiko standing on the roof with a smile, "is what I'm sure Unohana-dono would say."

"Heh. Surprising enough, she doesn't say it. What can I do for you, Captain Yahiko? You're one of the only few captains that I can't sense coming." Shinichi relaxed a bit. "Then again, you being in the 2nd squad, I suppose that means you're doing your job right."

Yahiko jumped down from the roof, "It's strange, all the other captains say the same thing, although to be honest I think Kyouraku-dono is lying and Unohana-dono's just being polite. But to be honest whenever they say that I feel as though it's the opposite-degozaru."

"Hm. Well, it's good to be self critical. If all the captains went around talking about how good they were, they'd never practice, and we'd end up taken out by one gillian."

"That's not what I meant-degozaru," Yahiko chuckled, "If I was doing my job right, we wouldn't be having this conversation."

"Hah! Cause you would have killed me already?" Shinichi laughed. "Ah well. What brings you by?"

"If you want to think that way," Yahiko looked up, "anyway I find that my barracks has a lousy view of the moon at this hour and I noticed you were out so I thought I'd say hello and see how everything was going."

Mashashi sighed as he stood up, "Well good as time as any to practice a bit."

"Things are fine. ....Well, not really, I'm still trying to work over Shigure. I don't exactly have the same talent that you do."

"Hm. Moons not so bad lookin tonight." Shigure said as he looked at it on a tree branch.

Yahiko raised an eyebrow, "I only talk to him. It's hardly 'talent'-degozaru."

"Huh. Maybe it's something with him then." Shinichi laid back on the roof. "Know anything about him, that I don't?"

"Well, now im hungry" Shigure said as he patted his stomach as it rumbled. "I wonder if anyone else would want to tag along with me." he wondered to himself.

Yahiko shook his head, "Can't say for sure. More importantly," he looked up at the moon, "It seems strange that we can enjoy this peace with everything that's happened-degozaru."

"Indeed. But it's times like these that it's best to relax. Simply because it may be one of the few times we get the chance."

Yahiko chuckled, "You may be right-degozaru."
