good point, although I wouldn't be so quick to discount a potential problem/mistake just because one of the offenders will not be joining us, which is why I'd like to maintain an active DM and feedback topic.

Either way you're right in that it would probably be too much to have us stay in character during what is effectively a planning topic. In that case what about keeping the color-coding system for missions while uncolored posts are part of down-time events and events that take place at the home-base? There could also be an option to post Fun/Vacation "Missions" in the bulletin topic.

The new steps would look something like this:

1. planning/brainstorming/critique in planning topic
2. official mission request and story arc sign up in same (or separate) planning topic
3. color-coded execution in RP topic
4. repeat

EDIT: Yes I like the mission rank idea. One of our plans was to have less acitve/busy posters select missions that fit with their schedules and ranking will be a good way to gauge time and commitment needed.

Yeah, home base can be where comedy unfolds. Pissing off Xanxus/Squallo, Lussuria/Fran messing with other members etc etc can be funny shit (and the manga has shown that such a thing is pretty normal there. They cant even eat dinner like normal people lol)

That and in the anime there was a filler where bell just said "Fuck it." and went on vacation in Namimori (disguised as a girl for a bit lol). Yamamoto went home and saw Bel and Marmon eating lunch and he was like "............why are the varia in my house." and Bel said "Hey we have lives and vacations too y'know?" So vacation comedy arcs are perfectly doable

-assassination (kill a target)
-escort (safely get someone from point A to point B)
-retrieve (get new rings, boxes, etc)
-Recon (Get intel on something an enemy could be working on, possibly steal it for ourselves?)
-search and rescue (find an injured ally and rescue them)

Said missions can be color coded, to go with the color coding thing red suggested.

Assasination=Red
Escort=Yellow
Retrieve=Blue
Recon=Yellow
Search and Rescue=Green

I'm having a hard time imagining the Varia doing rescue missions. They don't seem to care about allies much.

Loved that scene. Pretty much cemented Bel as my favorite Varia member.

Color coding was mostly to distinguish between contemporaneous arcs and would be divided by DM. It could be possible that there are two assassination missions running at the same time and could be hard to follow if theyre the same color. Instead mission type should be included in the ranking system for when people select missions to commit to.

Appearance: Navy green eyes, 6'0 ft with Skin-fade haircut( has a little hair on top, and its dark brown) White V-neck under his varia jacket along with a sky-blue scarf, Charcoal-black slacks and Dark brown boots. Always seen with a crystal blue crescent moon earring on his left ear. Near and dear to him for reasons unknown.
Personality: Very reserved, open-minded towards most people. Doesn't show much aggression unless its the only way to solve issues. Not much is known otherwise accept that his goal is discover how much power he can gain over his journey. His ideals and values still have yet to be determined depending on who he encounters.
Weapon: Indestructible Silver Saber
Box Weapon: A Half blue, half grey Anaconda. Can engulf itself in lightning flames to reduce damage it takes. If it manages to grab large prey, it can gain little bit of power. Long enough to coil itself around others to a powerful ally shield and heal those within for a certain time. Picky on who it likes at times.
