The Devil Survivor RP

"Chris, Mom's shop should be right across the park." said Mia "We should go there."
Calling out to the girl with the new demon she says "You should come with us too, Mom makes the best sweets. I'm Mia and this is my brother, Ty. What's your name?"

"Me?" Cassandra quickly composed herself as Lilim disappeared, "Well I guess I have nothing better to do. I'm totally gonna need some help figuring out how to work this thing anyway. Name's Cassandra, but everyone calls me 'CC.' It's, like, nice to meet you and junk."

"....Those kids have comps." Vlad mumbled to himself, seeing the battle that just commenced. "...More importantly, they changed the deathclocks of all the people in the park." He looked up at his number. "So you aren't permanent, eh? ....What happens to me in 2 days?" He looked back down at the park, seeing it rapidly clear out from the attacks. "They probably got it from those Shomonkai as well." He took out his comp and started skimming through the files. "If those kids can do that well with this comp, then maybe it'd be better for everyone to have one of these. As protection." Vlad got up from his bench. "But that's not important. I have to find out how to change my deathclock. Laplace Mail. I look forward to reading tomorrow's news."

"Oh hell, i cant stand women like this........." "Name's Christopher. Call me Chris. Well..............lets follow the kids I suppose." he said

The group approaches a small bake shop/cafe near the edge of the park. The closed sign is up and the blinds are down. One of the windows is broken. Mia runs ahead and trys the door. "Oh no, it's locked" she says.

Ty gently nudges his sister out of the way. Crack! He breaks a small hole in the clear glass door and reaches through to unlock it. The group eners the shop. It's a nice little cafe with several wooden tables and chairs, the decor is simple but also bright and cheery. There is a display counter with various cakes and things still in it.

"Whose there!" shouts a slightly shaking voice. "I'm warning you punks, I got a blender and I'm not afraid to use it!"

"Tom! It's us!" says Mia runnig foward to give the skinny man a hug.

"Mia? Ty? is that you? What are you kids doing here? and who're your friends?"says Tom.

"When he power went out we came here. That's Chris he helped us get here, and thts CC we met her in the park. This is Tom, he's supposed to be mom's assistant but he practically runs the place. Where's Mom? We came to find her." Mia said.

"Your mom was outside the city when the lights went out."says Tom, "She was tracking down a new ingredient for another one of her crazy pastry ideas. Anyway you kids and your friends should stay here for the night. I wouldn't dare go out there after dark with the power out. I have to get back to my own mother in the morning, Oh I hope Mama will be alright without me... Go ahead and help yourselves to any of the pastries and such, without the fridge half of this stuff won't be any good come tomorrow. I'll be in the back office if you need me." Tom leaves to a small office space behind the counter and closes the door behind him.

"Yawwn. Wow I'm really tired now that i know Mom's okay." says Mia sleepily. "I guess this is good night for me. I don't think I could eat anything, but you should definitely try the strawberry cake Chris and CC, it's the best. yaaawn." Mia walks to one of the tables and puts her head down.
With a nod to the other two, Ty picks one of the cakes from the counter and moves to a table by a window. He cracks the blinds a bit and stares out the window silently.

"...." Vlad continued staring at his death clock. He glanced at his watch. 22:00 "....I've been sitting here for 7 hours. Just staring at this thing...." He groaned and cricked his back. "This is not the way one should spend their last two days alive...."

"Oh-ho. You're a brave one to be out so late at night. And in a city infested with demons." A man in a purple suit came up to Vlad. "Very brave indeed."

"...." Vlad scowled at the man. "Psht. I've been sitting here for seven hours. My deathclock hasn't changed. I'll be fine." Vlad didn't care who this man was. His death was coming, it was pointless to trifle with such things.

"Is that so? Well, keep your eye on the things to come. After all, you get an advanced notice on them." The man winked and began to walk away.

"...You know about the laplace mail, huh?" Vlad said. "...I don't see a comp on you. ....You must be Loki, huh?"

"...My my. Brave, AND perceptive." Loki turned around.

"...Your deathclock is blank as well." Vlad added.

"VERY perceptive." Loki remarked.

"What are you trying to pull by coming here?" Vlad asked.

"I didn't just give out the laplace mail to just anyone. I gave it to people who I felt would provide the best entertainment. For the past seven hours you've done nothing. Come now, I risked my neck to get you that mail. Those kids tried to help those people, why not do something interesting yourself?"

"...Why should I? All of those people will die in 7 days. All I can focus on is trying to delay my own death." Vlad responded coldly, tilting his head back.

"...Indeed. Disappointing." Loki turned on his heel and waved to Vlad. "See you around then."

"...." Vlad didn't look back to Loki.

Tricia watched the city from her window, "I wonder how many others can use demons," she chuckled a bit, "She sat in a chair still looking out the window, "Tomorrow I will have to go and see what these demons can do."

Cassandra turned to Chris, "So, like, crazy day huh? How did you get roped into all this?"

"I got on a bus to come back from college." he said angry. "Then I saw some highschoolers get run over, and then these kids showed up asking for help. Jesus christ, I have no idea what imma do."

Cassandra nodded, "Same. At least we've found a place to crash? It could be worse right?"

"True I guess. Noting we can do now but rest." he replied to CC

Mat barely made it back to the hotel he was staying at, the lobby was full of people who had taken schedule, he looked at their deathclocks which seemed to be all different. He looked back outside in the street sighing, "What will happen to everything now." he sat down against a wall closing his eyes.

8:00 - The First Day

"..." Vlad opened his eyes. He groaned as he felt the crick in his neck from sleeping the way he did. He looked around to find there was no one in sight. "...I suppose it's still early.." He glanced above him. "..! W-What!?" His deathclock now read '0'. "What the hell?!? That's impossible! Nothing has- Huh?!" The chime on the comp rang, indicating he had a new mail.

Laplace Mail - The Observer

Goooo- Mornng! Heer is Tooday's News:

1. At 12:00 - A fire will break out at a local school. The cause is unkown. No deaths are reported, however the school maintained severe structural damage.

2. At 15:00 - 70 people will be killed at the Chicago National Museum. The cause is unknown.

3. At 18:00 - 160 people will be killed as the top three floors of a Home insurance building will explode. The cause is unknown.

4. At 18:30 - There will be a murder. Vlad Lammar is the victim. The killer is ???????.

Continued reports of attacks on people will be reported throughout the day. Several deaths will be reported, as well as many injuries.

"What?!" Vlad grabbed the comp, almost breaking it. "I'm going to be murdered?!" Vlad started to sweat. The comp gave another chime.

I had an idea - Loki

Good morning Mr. Lammar!
I thought and thought all night long just how to get you involved. When I finally thought of a way, I was so excited. If you don't manage to save those 160 people in that Home Office Building, then I will kill you myself. Don't try to taunt me by saying you'd like to see me try, I'm sure if you looked at your deathclock, you know my strength isn't something to take lightly. If you manage to save those people in that museum too, then I might even tell you what's REALLY going on. But I doubt you can do both. Not alone anyway. Who knows, maybe your deathclock is 0 for another reason?
Of course, you do have plenty of time to make the best of your last day alive. I'll be looking forward to see what you do. Isn't it exciting?

"Rrrrgh!!!" Vlad, now infuriated, had a vein popping out of his forehead. "Dammit!" He knew it was the right thing to save those people, but he could end up dying at some point today. He didn't want to risk his life at any point that he didn't have to. He took a deep breath. "Calm down...Focus on what I have to do now." He took another deep breath, calming himself down. "I've got till 6 to prepare. I should try finding someone to help me. I can't save 160 people on my own. ...What does that Loki know? Maybe I should try to save those other people too. At the very least it'll be a good warm up. If I don't get killed then..."

Mia was the first to awaken. Still quite groggy, she decided that what she needed was some fresh air, but was hesitant to go outside. Compromising, she decided to duck out into the back alley where she wouldn't be seen by passersby. On the way out, she looked at her sleeping companions and was puzzled to find they had numbers over their heads. She thought she may have seen them yesterday after the incident in the park, but if they had been there earlier she had failed to notice, probably due to stress and being the shortest one in the group. Sleepily, she went outside and just as soon as her head was clear her COMP chimed:

Mat was woke up by his Comp chiming. Pulling it out he looked at the new mail.

"This isn't good." Mat stood up and brushed himself off, he looked around some people were still in the lobby some had left, "Maybe I can prevent some of these deaths," he looked at the demon in his COMP, "And keep myself alive in the process," looking at his deathclock.

Chris was surprisingly in a deep sleep despite yesterday's events. Till his COMP beeped.

"You gotta be shitting me. 230 people are going to die. Including this Vlad guy. Vlad..........Vlad.............doesn't really ring a bell..........WAIT." he said remembering seeing the downtrotten guy in the park yesterday with a nametag on his uniform that read "Vlad Lammar" "Maybe we can save that guy.......I wanna save those other people, but surviving is important, and I dont really wanna be around a place thats gonna explode. And on top of that, we dont eve KNOW whats gonna kill the people in the museum." Chris said scratching his head.

Cassandra closed her COMP after reading the mail, "So not a problem. All we gotta do is avoid these places right?"

"True.........but thats not to say something else could come along and kill us." Chris said with a dark tone. "I think we should help that Vlad guy, but not get involved with the other two incidents." Chris said. "I mean, on top of this, we have two frickin kids tagging along. We cant be fighting, trying to survive, saving people, and babysitting at the same time." he said with a sigh.

Mia walks in as Chris is speaking. "Hey!...sorry... we're not ungrateful...but you don't have to worry anymore. Ty and I can help!" she says resolutely "We have demons and COMPS and we know how to use them now... where is Ty?" Mia looks around. Ty comes from the back office carrying a note from Tom which he hands to Mia. "Tom went back to his mom's, he wants us to go home and stay safe... Ty if it's ok with you I think we sould stay and help Chris instead, he helped us first after all." Ty nods. Mia turns to Chris and CC filled with even more determination to help "Please take us with you. We don't need a babysitter, we can save those people. Besides we're not that little. I'll be a teenager soon and Ty's already a teenager. You won't regret having us, I promise."

"Hmm.....what do you think CC?" Chris asked

Cassandra held up her COMP, "I think if we want to survive we should avoid places that this thing clearly says people are going to die at. How do you know we're not part of that 70 or 160 people dead?"

"Well my clock says I still have a day.........when I got close to a dangerous area it dropped as a warning sign. Though we cant always go off of that either........" Chris said

Cassandra raised an eyebrow, "Clock?"

"Yeah" says Mia looking confused "Do you mean those numbers above your heads? What are those? I couldn't see them until after the park yesterday. Why don't I have one?"

"Uh, dont you guys see floating numbers over everyone's heads?" Chris asked confused.
