The Pokemon Roleplay

"To drink it. Why else?" He looked at her as if it was a stupid question.

"Well duh. I know that much.", Jenna grumbled back. "But like...ah forget it. I'm trying to kill time. I just want to get to Cherrygrove already.".

"Well, we'll be getting there soon." He sighed to himself and scratched behind his ear.

"Sigh, I hope so. I wanna deliver this stupid thing already. I don't even know what it is.", Jenna said as she held the package to her ear and shook it.

"The guy didn't tell you?"

"No, he just told me to deliver it to someone at Route 31."

"Sounds like a pain in the ass kind of guy."

"Hm, well he's seems nice, he's just a very busy person. It's hard for me to say no to people. And I thought it was a good opportunity to get out of New Bark."

"You don't like New Bark?"

"Well no, it's not that I don't like it. I just miss the city. Sure, I don't like big crowds. But New Bark is too...simple. It's pretty boring...That's why I want to go to Goldenrod. I want to see the Radio tower so badly!"

It hit for a moderate amount of damage, sending Weavile back.

"Alright, it's defence is low, let's finish this."

"FAINT ATTACK"

Weavile lept at Staryu slashing with it's claws.

"Whoa Staryu GET OUT OF THE WAY QUICK"

Unfortunately for Staryu, Faint Attack allowed Weavile to swoop in and hit while its guard was down, and its defense had been reduced twice already. The attack struck true and did massive amounts of damage (40%HP remaining).

"Argh... quick, while he's up in your face, counterattack! Just...blast it with everything you got!"

Staryu flipped over in time to send a cascade of pointy star-shaped objects at Weavile's face, a Swift attack.

"Why weren't you doing that before!? Oh, never mind..."

Weavile had dealt massive damage but was open for a counter attack, it's speed was an asset but it wasn't able to dodge the many projectiles from Staryu's Swift Attack.

Weavile fell to the ground (Weavile's HP 70%)

"That's nothing, now finish it, neat and tiday"

"Quick Attack"

Weavile recovered and leapt at his opponent.

Quick Attack was much too fast for Staryu to avoid at that short of a distance. Weavile struck hard, sending Staryu flying, critically injured (40-30=10).

"That's enough. Staryu, return." Michael held up his Poke Ball, and Staryu disappeared into it in a flash of light.

"Well, you won. I can see I'm just not good enough to try any real battles at the moment. Sorry if I wasn't much of a challenge after all." (Sanity decreased to 95%)

Gastly had been thoughtfully watching the fight. He seemed to be considering the outcome, or perhaps something unrelated. It was hard to tell.

Sothe threw his Poke'ball and re-captured Weavile.

"Don't be so hard on yourself, I opened with a type bonus, if you'd used your Ghastly first then I might not have come out the victor."

"Well, all the same, your Pokemon are pretty good. Which reminds me, I don't think I got your name? I'm Michael Katz, moved in here just recently." He extended his hand for a handshake.

Sothe shook his hand.

"The name's Sothe Holerath, most people call me Toa Lord or just TLS. I'm just passing through as they say."

"Well, in that case- uh, Gastly, could you cut it out for a second there?"

Gastly had floated up until he was staring at TLS, inches from his face.

Michael pushed him out of the way.

"In that case, know anyplace cool around here? I'm a...self-styled explorer. I'm planning on looking around some, seeing as how I just got here and all."

*wakes up* "Whoa that was a good nap! Now maybe I should get going and find out what to do around this place?" Antonio walks up to the store clerk inside and asks, "what stuff is there to do around here besides sleeping?" Well we have a famous tourist spot called the radio tower and we have our young pretty gym leader with all her bug pokemon. "hmm, well that will do thanks a lot for the help. Now I'm pretty sure that tower might be boring so I will go there after the gym. I want to take a look at this young and pretty girl for myself."

Sothe, still a little phazed by the Ghastly snapped back to reality.

"Uhhh, not really, I'm only in town cause there's a type of Poke'mon that appears in this area, I hear it's pretty cute, chicks dig cute Poke'mon ya know."

He stared into space for a minute.

"Anyway yeah...I saw two Trainers heading for Route 31. If you're looking for adventure hooking up with them would be a good bet."

He paused for a second again.

"Or you could just go spelunking in a cave if ya wanted"

As great as spelunking sounded, it probably wasn't the best idea. Subterranean exploration was tricky business, and he didn't have his full set of cave gear prepared yet.
"I'm not sure about 'hooking up' with a bunch of random people, but it looks like that route is the easiest way out of town, and there really isn't that much here, so I think that's where I'll be headed." He threw a quick salute. "If you'll excuse me... good luck catching that Pokemon."
He started off towards Route 31.

"Ahh, maids prolly' doe with my room, I'll crash here one more night then be on my way as well"

He had fallen asleep by now and was holding his egg as if it were his teddy bear. He was snoring loudly. He mumbled under his breath, "mmm... Money... Food... Hungryyyyyy... Egg..." He turned over and continued to sleep...

Michael stood atop a hill overlooking Route 29 and struck a dramatic pose.
Gastly did as well, only without the use of limbs.
This filled them with bright hope for the gloriously shining future of light. (Sanity: 100%)

"Well, nothing I guess. But, I just find technology like that so interesting. I just want to see it...and Goldenrod also has a huge Department store, right? That city's perfect for me!", Jenna said happily as she played with her Pichu on her head.
