Gastly, for whatever reason, did not bite Jose, but instead started spinning again, this time counterclockwise.
"In that case," said Michael, "Seeing that battle has inspired me with fight. I want to check out the gym first, I think."
He got up. "I'm heading out, then. You can tag along if you want. Uh...you know... it might not be a good idea to fall asleep next to a ghost-type."

"Ah, you're right. Sorry...Let's hurry up then! I wanna challange Falkner!", Jenna said as she started running towards Violet.

This time he was paying more attention. "Alright then" His eyes popped open and he yawned. "Off to the first gym then?" He hopped up and picked up his egg. "Let's be on our way, then"

The group set off toward Violet City in the west.
"Hmm... besides Dark Cave, there's not much on this route. It should be a fairly short trip," said Michael, looking at his map.
Gastly was bobbing up and down, trying to get his attention.
"Hm? Oh, I see, it's the trainers from before."
He sped up his pace and called out to them. "Hey, are you guys heading for Violet City?"

He followed Micheal's suit and said, "Yay. More people invited to the party!" He held his egg tightly against his side so as not to drop it. "Hey it's those guys that like monkeys on their backs." he laughed.

"Oh nothing don't worry about it." He said laughing to himself. "It's better that you don't know that he was caught by the 5-0" He laughed a bit harder.

"Ah Milktank eh? fine I guess I'll start this off then, Alakazam use reflect."

Alakazam starts to create an invisible wall in front of him.

"Ugh. I shoulda kept my mouth shut." Mike said, following behind her reluctantly.

"Milktank! Rollout!" Whitney's Miltank curled in a ball and rolled toward Alakazam.

Jenna stopped in her tracks. "Oh wait...I didn't tell my Mom I'd be challanging Gyms..I only told her about the delivery...Should we go back to New Bark?", Jenna asked as she turned to Mike.

"It's up to you. Miss boss." Mike said.

"They didn't even hear me? I thought I was loud enough...maybe I was mumbling and didn't realize it oh never mind" Michael sighed heavily.

Gastly started spinning all over the place. He seemed to be amused.

"Please don't call me that...", Jenna stood there for a moment. "Ah well! We're already this far, Let's go to Violet! I'll just call her on the way or something.", Jenna said as she continued walking.

"...Here." Mike handed her a cellphone. "Give them a call."

"Then why not phone home and tell her that you're going?"

Michael had stopped walking and was staring vaguely into the distance. Gastly nudged him.
"Oh, yeah. If we cut through these trees we'll be at Violet City in a matter of minutes. Let's go." He began cutting through the vegetation.

"You're not gonna call her?"

Eric woke up in a cold sweat. "Whah? Whew......it was just a dream" he said looking down at his evovled eevees. "Heh, I had a dream that I explo-"
THEN HE EXPLODED ALONG WITH HIS POKEMON THEN HIS HOUSE SPONTANEOUSLY BURST INTO FLAMES AND COLLAPSED.

"Alakazam use your Psybeam to slow it down, then let the reflect do the rest."

"What's with the whole arm grabbing thing?" Mike asked as she pulled him along.

"Hah! Dodge it Milktank! Then get out of Rollout and go into Brick Break!" Whitney's Milktank avoided the psybeam, and then popped out of Rollout into a dropfist.
