"Geez. These guys only care about themselves it seems" Chris thought to himself.

"So," Cassandra said looking at Chris, "are you guys gonna go and, like, play the big heroes again?"

"Got nothin better to do. Besides the only results of it would be we die, or live and get stronger or more reliable allies. We could die trying to run away and survive on our own too, so I might as well pick the route where I have a chance to become more able to fend for myself and those who cant fend for themselves in this chaos." Chris honestly said with a serious tone as he pat Mary on her head

"Hmm. Not a bad idea kid." Vlad looked at Chris, with a glimpse of respect for a moment. "..Maybe it'll be a good idea to stick with you kids after all. At least for now. Starting a strong group now would give us an edge over other groups that form, and might not be as....friendly."

"When you put it like that," Cassandra scratched the back of her head, "I guess sticking together wouldn't be a total waste, but if things get too dangerous I'm so gone."

"Awesome! I know! We need a team name. Something cute that captures the unity of this ragtag band of heroes bound together by a creul twist of fate in a fight against all odds for their own survival and quite possibly the fate of the world... how about... the Cake Crusaders! And the bakery is our secret base!" Mia starts up another one of her talkative streaks waving her arms and smiling brightly. "We need code names. I'm the Red Knight-- no better yet Rainbow. Ty is Green, Mary can be Blue, CC is Yellow, Vlad is Black, and Chris is... Pink!"

Cassandra turned to Chris and asked, "...How often does she do this?"

"I just met her. I dunno." Chris said scratching his head. "And why the hell is Mary blue and Im Pink? Reverse it." he said to Mia

"Duh, you're pink cuz you're the sweet one and Mary's blue cuz shes the cool one with a mysterious air and a backstory with lost loved ones."

"I'm not doing any team names." Vlad said bluntly.

"Ahh lighten up. Havin a stick up yer ass isn't gonna help this situation one bit. Sometimes a few laughs is what we need" Chris said covering Mary's ears due to his profanity

Cassandra shrugged, "Yeah I'm not to big on the name either."

"Keep covering her ears." Vlad's expression turned cold. "I don't know if you understand this or not, but this is not a game. People have already started dying, and in case you haven't noticed, I may not have much time left myself. So forgive me if I'm in the mood to laugh."

"Well the name IS stupid but still. Let the youngins stay carefree. Better than them sulking and complaining which I'm sure would ALSO piss you off." Chris said shrugging. "Being all angry and downcast will just make shit suck till you are killed."

"I'm more into surviving. But you're right about them being irritating when sulking. I won't play along, but I won't stop them either."

Mia's smile disapears. "We know it's not a game... You think we don't know that. You think we dont know we could die any time... We could end up like Tom and his mother any time..." her eyes begin to tear up. "I still see them. I can't get the bloodstains out from behind my eyes. I'm still a kid! I shouldn't be running from monsters that want to eat me! I should be hanging out with my friends making up silly names! And all you can do is argue and go on and on about saving yourself! Its not fair not fair notfairnotfair!!! Uuuaaaaah!"
Ty picks his sister off his shoulders and hugs her patting her head. He stares at Vlad.

"Dont pay him any mind. It doesn't seem like its worth the effort, and on top of that I doubt he cares to be honest." Chris said to Mia. "Though, Cake Crusaders? why not the Pastry Punishers?" he said to her with a smile

"...." Vlad stayed quiet.

"Anyway," Cassandra spoke as if trying to get passed the awkward scene in front of her, "so what're we doing about this guy's challenge? Shouldn't we get a move on now?"

Mia wipes her face and smiles, *sniff* "hehe. Pastry Punishers? Now that's too silly." *sniff* Mia wipes off the last of her tears and tries to look determined. "Sorry. I'm all better now, thanks Chris. CC's right, lets go kick some demon butt."

"Sounds fun to me." He said. "Lets get goin"

"Hold up. Let's divvy up some responsibilities here. We shouldn't go charging in blindly." He pointed at Ty and Chris. "You two are in front. I assume you both know the way? The little girl will follow closely behind." He looked to Cassandra. "You and I will bring up the rear. I have a feeling we're the heavy hitters."

Ty nods his head in agreement but turns to his sister. "Stay close. Watch your own back." he says to Mia.

"Seriously, watch your back." Chris said to Mia at hearing that Cassandra and Vlad would be behind them. "You just stick close Mary."

"Okei!" she shouted.

"What in god's name makes him think the valley girl with a pixie is a heavy hitter?" Chris asked himself. "Eh, then again I have an ice fairy I suppose." "Ty, come with me for a second?" he asked Ty as he pointed to a statue across the road

Ty follows but he keeps a very close eye on Mia.
